High idle is most often caused by an engine vacuum leak, use a can of carburetor spray and spray it around the intake manifolds (upper and lower), if there is a leak you will hear a change in the idle speed

Testimonial: "did that. inspected and replaced several vacuum lines. going to try a tps tomorrow."

The IAC may be defective have seen that many times. Check the closed throttle voltage and make sure it is within spec of about 1 volt closed throttle. Also check for a warped throttle valve have seen that as well. I am a retired Ford dealer tech.

1997 honda civic idle and acceleration misfires

The first you should be taking when getting error code should be to replace the faulty spark plugs and their respective wiring. Also check for faulty distributor and ignition coil. If everything till now is fine then and only then go for cleaning throttle body.

The regulator is on top of the engine along the gas line. It has a vacuum line on top. Start the truck and pull the vacuum line off the regulator. If fuel comes out of the regulator, it has failed. You can run pretty rich with a busted regulator-especially at idle.

I'm getting codes with obd II read for o2 sensor 1 bank 1 and sensor 1 bank 2 i have a rough running 2004 ford escape 3.0 V6

If the O2 Sensors are original, you could just change the front 2

The ones closest to the engine.

Any other issue you need to actually diagnose, as codes
are for just that reason

They don't ever tell you to replace anything

Running rough is more the O2 Sensors

Plugs
MAF Dirty
Vacuum Leaks
Ignition Coils going bad

99 mercury sable automatic trans vehicle idles very low randomly even stalls out sometimes high idle occurs as well reaches about 4000 rpm at times. engine light threw 4 codes, all to do with o2 sensors...

Sounds like a broken or torn vacum hose, pcv valve clogged, or bad Idle air control motor. Did you spray carb cleaner on vacum hoses or near the plastic intake., and did the motor rev up or down? Those codes represent a lean condition which means most like a vacum leak or clogged idle air motor. Sometimes the intake manifolds crack or the intake manifold gaskets crack. FInd that vacum leak or inpect iac motor

I have two codes for my 03' Ranger - P0171 & P1074 System too lean on Bank 1 and Bank 2... What does this mean? O2 Sensors?

yes it could be. it may also be Vacuum leaks (Intake Manifold Gaskets, vacuum hoses, PCV hoses, etc.) also a dirty mass air flow sensor. but replace 02 sensors first, to see if problem is solved.

Check engine lights on 99 ford ranger ODB codes 3- need solutions before in shop takes me to the bank help #1- P1506 #2- P1131 #3- P0171 I already know what they mean, got them written down. Need...

DTC P1506 is set when the PCM detects the engine idle speed is greater than the desired rpm. This is most commonly caused by a dirty or bad IAC valve. Cleaning the throttle body will, most likely, cure this problem.

p1131 means that the bank #1 O2 sensor, the bank closest to the firewall, cylinders 1-3 is showing a lean mixture. Could be a vacuum leak, a misfire on that bank, an exaust leak upstream of the O2 sensor, fuel control or injector problem on that bank, a faulty O2 sensor, faulty PCM, faulty wiring in the engine control wiring harness.

P0171
In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling also Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessaryCheck for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure
