How to change the headlight switch

the headlight switch is part of the change lane or turn signal lever handle that goes in the steering wheel assembly. You must replace the entire assembly because it is not easy to replace only the headlight switch. As it somewhat expensive, try to check to be sure it is the switch what has failed and not the wiring harness or other part of the circuit. Same situation for the high beams switch. Look for suppliers, as the original part is too overpriced. It is made by "VALEO" from France.

2006 Headlights won't turn on

Stratus, sebring, and pt cruiser use the same switches and they commonly fail. check your fuses, if they are all good then your switch is probably bad. this problem is most easily diagnosed with a DRB diagnostic tool. have you checked that you don't need to replace your bulbs?

Trying to install an astra 600 car alarm into a 04 dodge stratus

I called dodge local service dealer and ask the chief mech. He said the lock unlock switch had two resistors, Lock was 7200 ohms and the unlock had a 620 ohm both going to the PCU (computer) with an reduced 12 voltage supply to the CPU the CPU looks at the amount of reduced and will energize the lock or unlock Solenoid. added the resisters to each solenoid lock 7200 ohm and unlock 620 ohm on the ASTRA 600 alarm output to the CPU. works OK.
Thanks for your Interest in my problem.

I would definitely look into the switch at this point. Make sure there are no blown fuses in the relay as well. But most likely your switch is the problem.

Side note. The bulbs are still good in the car right. I have seen cases where both headlights burn out because of voltage surges caused by bad wiring etc. Also I have seen someone pull the headlight switch in a certain position so both the dim and brights were on (depending on car) and this caused both headlights to burn out.

Hope I could help

Headlights won't work!

I had a problem like that on a Mercury Sable and it turned out to be the Multi-Function Switch. This was the whole assembly for the turn signals, hi/low beam switch, and wipers (I think). You have to remove it to test it to see if it is bad. Check out the Auto Zone web site to see if they have the test and replacement procedure. Thay may even do it in the store for you.
