2004 dodge ram 2500 was in a slight fender bender.. Now won't start I hear nothing from the fuel pump after the accident it ran for a little bit then just absolutely nothing.

Turn the key to the on position and plug in a scan tool and scan the computer. use the trouble code and go to mitchell on demand and search the trouble code and the program will tell you what is malfunctioning and how to fix it.

no cutoff switch, only a relay.. I have had fuel pumps get broken by being jarred in an accident... need to do a quick spark and fuel pressure check..

This usually happens when the lift pump gets worn and fuel pressure drops below 7lbs and the injection pump has to work harder by pulling in the fuel and will destroy the pump,your is probably a vp44 fuel injection pump it needs replaced and they are expensive 1200.00+ but also change the lift pump or change to a fass fuel system,if the lift pump went out and you replace the injection pump it will ruin it in a short time.
The injection pump is not an easy job to change or for a novice mechanic as it has to be set in time with the engine at top dead center,and then the whole fuel system needs to be bleed of air.

loosen one fuel line to one of the injectors, try to start the truck and look for the fuel to spray out of the line. it should spray rather hard if the injector pump is working right. if it just dribbles or trickles out you have a weak pump.
