SOURCE: Only cold air on passenger side

I would first check and make sure that you have enough Freon in the system, on climate control dual systems only one side will put out cold air if the system is low on Freon. Eventually, both sides will put out warm/hot air if the system continues to loose Freon. As with all leaks the system should be checked and then the leak causing component replaced/repaired.

SOURCE: cold air on passenger side warm air on drivers side

Actuator motors either get a tear in the rubber or a hose is broken and not letting vacuum assist in its opening.
You can try moving the lever by hand and see if the air gets colder on the bad side.c976077.jpg

SOURCE: How do you fix the driver side air blend door actuator?

you cannot repair the actuator you need to replace it with new one. These motors turn but get weak with time. if you test it, it works, put it in and it doesn't. this is because the motor is weak, unfortunately GM does not sell these motors separately.

SOURCE: disarm and remove ford expedition air bags

Remove the negative cable from your car battery before replacing car air bags

Deactivate the air bag by removing the air bag fuses. Look in your car owners manual to locate the fuses

Unscrew steering column paneling and remove the airbag bolts on the back side of the steering wheel. Pull out the airbag until you see the back side and unplug the wires

SOURCE: Air conditioner blows hot air after 30 seconds on

I have had this problem. I am not a mechanic...so to correct the issue temporarily, I simply turn off the car and restart. This has worked everytime for me. In extreme cases, I think you can also remove the AC fuse and start the car, which will also reset the computer. I also think that by taking the climate control off the "AUTO" setting has worked in the past.

I have a 04 Ford Expedition...the rear heater makes a thumping noise whether the fan is on or off, sometimes it is much louder than other times....Help! Sound is driving us mad!!

This sounds like a stripped gear in an air door actuator. simple to replace and costs about 40 dollars. It is located on the passenger side behind the large interior wheel well cover.

2000 lincoln ls ac is blowing hot air on pass side

On the central console is the A/C module. Inside A/C module are driver's side & passenger's side air flaps for mixing hot & cold air and directed air flows towards driver's side & passenger's side according to driver commands. The passenger's side flap for mixing hot & cold air according to driver commands is bad. Flaps are actuated by electrical step by step motors. Could be damaged the flap actuator (motor), the flap mechanism (blocked in "HOT" air position), and / or electrical supply wires. You must access the passenger's side flap for mixing hot & cold air, and see what happens when you command cold air to the driver's side: flap mechanism, flap actuator, supply wires, ... Repair & replace bad pieces and test the A/C system.

AC blows hot air on the driver side and cold air on the passenger side

You may have a bad temperature door actuator motor on the drivers side. The actuator is what moves the temperature blend door and when it fails it usually moves the door all the way to the "hot" position. Sometimes if you shut the vehicle off for a bit then restart it the system will work fine for a while then the actuator will again swing the door all the way open or shut. I've replaced several of these actuators [both drivers side and passenger side] for similar problems.

Climate control panel

These problems are usually caused by a faulty blend door actuator which controls the position of the air mixing door, and in vehicles with more than one air zone (passenger/driver, front/rear, etc.) there will be a door/actuator for each. These electric blend door actuators are self-calibrating - there is a feedback circuit (wiper type potentiometer) that tells your HVAC control the position of the door. It is not unusual for this potentiometer to wear causing loss of signal at various positions, which then will cause erratic movements of the door (if the circuit fails to open circuit or shorting, the door will default to fully open or closed - i.e. hot or cold air only).

Rear A/C and heating unit makes a knocking sound when turned on

I had the same issue on my 04 Expedition. Like the other posting it is most likely the actuator motor that sets on top of the rear AC unit in the back. However it cost me about $35 dollars and about 15 minutes for me to replace. It is easy to access by removing the top cover that is located on the passenger side rear cover found in the very back underneath the rear glass. Also remove the cup holder which can be removed by prying upward until it pops loose.
The actuator is white and located on top near the front of the rear AC unit and is held in place by three screws. Simply remove the screws unplug connection. To reinstall the new one you may have to turn on the rear AC and barely plug in the actuator until is moves to the position so that it lines up with the blend door. When lined up the actuator should fit right back in place. You could also compare the old unit with the new one and make sure the shaft is in the same position so that you know it will fit back into place. If the new unit does not move when you plug it in to align the shaft, simply select floor or roof position (which is the opposite position you are currently in) on the rear AC control. This should activate the actuator and you can see the the shaft slowly move.

This fixed mine. It is a common problem and my local dealership had them on the shelf. More often they see the front AC unit have this problem but does occur on the rear unit.
