SOURCE: Will the tire size 235/40/R18 fit on my 2000 Oldsmobile Alero?

Take your Alero to any reputable tire dealer and they will assist you in hopes of selling you something. Just tell them you want an estimate and that you want to be sure you won't have a rubbing problem with this change.

SOURCE: tires and rims

Check inside the driver door post for the factory tire size for your truck. It's recommended that your tire size not vary more than 3% of original, due to handling characteristics, and car/truck performance. Keep in mind that putting huge tires on can throw off your speedometer reading, so big tires having fewer revolutions will show a lower speed than you are actually traveling-so watch out for radar traps! Our computer controlled engines are fed info constantly to adjust fuel/air ratio, rpms, etc, and vastly different tire sizes can affect those adjustments and calculations. So, yes, I agree, bigger tires would look much better, but don't go too big. For a formula to estimate tire size and lots of info and advice, go to tirerack website.

SOURCE: Tires for 2001 Hyundai Accent R14

My 2002 Accent has the original rims which are R14 rather than the R13 specified in the owner's manual. Yet my speedometer is factory calibrated and gives the correct speed readings at all speeds (compared to my GPS navigator's indicated speed). I suspect that R14 is correct for your car and that Hyundai forgot to update the owner's manual.

SOURCE: 2003 GOLF GTI THE BEST TIRE SIZE FOR 17'' RIMS???

I would advise you to leave both sides with 235 45 17 this tire size would provide you with better handling and improved comfort also tires wil be more protected of suffering damage in the sidewalls caused by bumps and potholes just remember to keep them inflated at 38 +/- 2 psi.

Testimonial: "hey thanks for the advice. I order HANKOOK V12 235 45 17 tires, after installation results are very well.Handling and braking inceased smooth driven"

Got hit on the right rear tire and now it is dented in

find some junkyards in the phone book and call them until you find a replacement rim. they are about 20 bucks used and most likely about any GM rim from the 90s will fit it. have your old tire put on your new used rim, balanced, and you are good to go unless the tire itself has been damaged.take a look at the tire size so you know what size rim you have, most likely a 13,14, or 15 inch size.

Jhinkleyneed a spare tire/ full size or donut for 95 lumina

You can call your local tire shop and they can order a temporary spare or stock replacement rim and install a tire or they may have something used.
The other option is to check with your local auto salvage yard, they would have either style of tire and the cost would be considerably less.
There is a parts interchange to check for used parts at reputable auto salvagers in your area this is the link to check their inventory and pricing.

both tires will fit on the 15 inch rim
But be advised make sure you have same size tires on the drive wheels being as your car is front wheel drive u want both the front tires to be the same size
if this is not done u will burn up your transmission
if you have to put a odd ball tire on put it on the rear

exact opposite is true for rear wheel drive car on a rear wheel drive car u want both rear tires to be the same size

Whats the difference between large and small rim sizes on a car

As a rule it refers to the rim size (size tire) your vechile needs. On some models you have the option of 15, 16 17 etc. size tires. So if your options were 15 or 16, small would be 15 and large would be 16. Just check your tire size to determine.
