Is it easy to refit your own bathroom?

In my experience, no it isn't. I have a little experience when it comes to DIY and plumbing, and I recently decided that it was time to refit my bathroom. I purchased a new toilet, sink, bath, and shower and planned to fit them all myself, along with replacing the floor and fitting some cabinets. After I had all the supplies ready to go, I realized it was a big task and I didn't really have the skills or tools I needed.

In the end, I contacted a bathroom fitter in Worthing named Plumbit (Worthing) Ltd. They quoted me a decent price, so I decided to take a step back and let them do the work. It was the best decision I could have made. The refit was quick and efficient, and the bathroom looks great. I may have spent a little more than expected, but I think I saved myself a lot of time and hassle.

Noise after fitting cam belt

When you refitted the belt, was there a spacer ring refitted correctly?
Also, check for any sprocket key was fitted correctly and that the crankshaft pulley bolt was refitted correctly and was tightened properly.
There's also the slight possibility that the plastic casings weren't fitted flush and are being scraped by the pulleys or belt.

Had some hail damage and the "repair" shop removed

hi.

first call the repair shop and explain what has happened.
they may offer to send the insulation to you, or to cover some or all of the cost getting the car back to them for them to refit it, as they should have fitted it properly before you took the car away.

i am not sure where you stand legally with this, because while they should have refitted the insulation, it is also your responsibility to check that the repairs are satisfactory before accepting the car back. this would include checking that things have been refitted properly.

i would call the repair shop before doing anything else and see what they have to say.

hope this helps.

Heater not working... dealership said I needed a heater core? said it was "clogged".... $1600 parts and labor.. any other suggestions?

This helped on a different vehicle. I disconnected both heater hoses and connected my own hoses to heatercore. Flushed it,then poured in a 50/50 of water and CLR (like one tv). Left it for 15 min then flushed it again. The water and clr came out totally white with deposits. It did help.

Needs struts in front

Hi there!

Awkward rather than difficult I would say.

You need Axle stands, & spring compressors, & a bar & chain, as well as usual ratchets and spanners .

Method -

Jack & support on stands. Remove roadwheel, Remove lower strut bolt, Remove bottom wishbone balljoint from hub assembly. Remove top strut mountings. Use spring compressors. Use bar & chain to lover wishbone, remove strut.

Refit new strut - Use now lower bolt& nut. Refit wishbone bottom balljoint Remove spring compressors & bolt up.

The hard part is manouvering the strut with one leg keeping the wishbone out of the way. - and refitting the balljoint straight.

If this assists you, please take a moment to rate as Fixya!
