You need to check the Transmission.If it doesn,t work Your car wont go past the 1st gear or will not run.

if i were you disconnect speedo cable both ends sit some one in car to see if cable is internally turning? if so good! now take small hex key spin speedo cluster to see if it moves speedometer arm if so put it back together and replace speed sensor usually located at speedo cable input at transmission have a great day!John
