How can I remove the headlight assembly from my 2002 Mazda prot?g?. I want to clean out the inside of the lens.

At my shop we have a product from Ever-Wear, it is a headlight restoration kit, do it on the car and works great. Did one light on my car and left the other one foggy as a demo. Great Product

Probably vents on backside are plugged up.Little plastic plug like thing, with tiny screen in it. Pulls out and needs cleaning.

you cant really get inside of the lenses because they are glued together and usually break when you try to disassemble them. the lights should just turn slightly to the left and pull right out no special tools required.

be prepared to replace the nuts holding the headlight - especially if you replace the headlamp when it's cold.  cheap plastic breaks really easily!

The lens isn`t removable, you can buy a kit from the auto parts store to polish them from the outside without even taking them off, works very well.Good luck
