2000 explorer is dying while I drive. It will start back up but with some difficulty. Could it be the fuel pump? The gauges do flicker a little but doesnt seem like the alternator. I drove 300 miles yesterday and it only died a couple times on the freeway and was able to restart it. Its having a little trouble starting now.

Have a fuel test done on it, that will tell if the fuel pump is weak, or the fuel pressure regulator is malfunctioning. When was the fuel filter changed last?
If the fuel test doesn't show anything, further testing would be recomended.

Which gauge flickers. When last did u changed your fuel filter I usually changed it every 6 months and they are not very expensive. ONce your fuel filter is dirty eventually some debris will come out of the filter then it will go to your injectors and that is not good.

Ok Brother, Seen this before, the issue I think is something in the belt drive is going bad, Remove the fan belt and try to turn every pully by hand, except the crank shaft. The one that doesn't turn is the culprit.

Just got a big snow, had a little more than a 1/4 tank of gas, started it up and backed it out to move snow, while it was idling in the drive way it quit, the fuel gauge shows empty and the fuel pump is...

Check battery connections clean them actually.
Check all fuses.
Your gauge isn't working because it is part of the fuel pump in the tank.
Might have burnt a fuse or burnt out the pump.
But it sounds more like a fuse.
You also havee fuses under the hood in the engine compartment.

2000 Volvo S70 Starts then dies. Seems to do it more often if the engine is warm. Wait 10 minutes and it starts and runs fine.

Fuel pumps are common on these cars. Its a hard fault to duplicate with a gauge because they rarely die at idle! I would still connect a gauge and see pressures though, see what happens to them when it starts to die (if it will at idle). 99/100 times you need to replace the fuel pump, and fuel pump relay. The relay overexcites and burns out your fuel pump. As long as you dont have AWD its not a difficult job, if its AWD then you have to lower the whole back end of the car (springs, diff, AOC....) to lower the tank enough to get to the pump. Make sure that you align the pump correctly or you will have a false fuel level reading.

2000 chevy malibu engine dying when your driving. It will start right back up. I just replaced the fuel pump. All the gauges turn off and then go back up when it dies

if crank or cam sensor is bad, it will shut down car when warm. have car scanned to see if this is your problem. if you do not have a scanner, most autopart stores will scan it for free.

2000 chevy blazer 4X4. After driving twenty to thirty miles on freeway when I pull off to the off ramp and come to a stop my battery gauge will start to flicker as well as my fuel gauge, will do that...

Are there any codes in the pcm?
There are quite a few things that could cause this;
Make sure the battery cables are tight and clean.
If you have a way to do it, need to find out what the fuel pressure is at when it is acting up.
Dose it miss at all or just loose rpm's and die, no matter what you do? (meaning can you keep it alive by pressing the gas peddle)

To me it sounds like your new fuel pump is loosing pressure while running for a while. But try and get a pressure reading and post back, that will give us something to rule out, or to address.
I think the light flicker you are talking about is just low engine rpm's?

Trying to locate the fuel filter and pump...

The fuel filter is in the hood (metalic black) and the fuel pump is in the fuel tank (either through the back seat or bringing the tank down.

Cavalier dies

you need to find the fuel pressure release around the fuel rail press the little tab when the car dies. If there is no fuel coming out from that point, your fuel pump is going.
