SOURCE: oldsmobile aurora where is the oil sending unit

It should be on the left side of the engine(front of car) wiring runs under and around oil pan maybe wires are torn or pulled out of connector.oil sending unit is usually right in the same area of oil filter.

SOURCE: Oldsmobile Aurora 2002 3.5 - drove over speed bump

suspect you activated one of the air bag sensors. it takes activation of two of three sensors to blow off the airbag. have the airbag system scanned to see the sensors as to which one is causing the problem. there is also a chance that a loose connecter may have come off an airbag sensor from the jarring of the bump. either way you will need to get scanned to find out whats going on.

SOURCE: 1996 oldsmobile aurora oil pressure

The Aurora is a low pressure oil system. The only solution available at this time is to increase the oil weight. I went o straight 30W to solve the idle alarm issue. Some use 20W oil and that works too.
With 20W you will be at 80 to 90psi cold then drop to 20-30psi hot.
I first replaced the oil pressure gauge and it was worse. I put the original back in and it was better. Then went to 30W and all is fine.
Running it that way for a few years now.

SOURCE: on my 2002 jeep liberty

Does it come on when its at a low idle? If so its probably the oil pump that is on the way out or the main bearings. It could be as easy as as wiring that is going to ground from the sensor.

2001 olds aurora has several problems. 1. oil pressure lights comes on intermitantly 2. fuel gauge does not work 3. transmission shifts hard intermitantly

Classic 2001 Aurora problems!1) I have found the oil pressure light comes on intermittently as well. Check the oil quality and level. On mine I have not needed to do anything else.
2) If your willing, this is a relatively inexpensive repair...http://aurorah.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=nextgeneration&action=display&thread=5353&page=2

I changes oil in my 1997 aurora and i put 5w 30 back in. after it warmed up the low pressure light comes on at idle. What might be the problem

with it being a 97, the oil pump could be worn if high milage. thus causing less pressure. try 10w30, it wont hurt a thing.

Where is the oil filter located on a 2002 Aurora?

It's on the front side of the engine between the engine and the radiator and a little to the passenger side. Reach it from the bottom of the car just behind the shield.
If, you have the 3.5L it's internal. Remove the cap on the oil pan with an oil filter wrench and then replace the cartridge.

I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora with a 4.0 V8 engine. When the car is sitting still at a redlight etc., the "Low Oil Pressure" warning light comes on. When I start again it stops alarming until I come to...

I had this same problem. I put in a can of engine restorer and lubricant, the 8 cyliner formula and had no more problem with that light coming on. this is found at advanced auto at about 10.00 a can. it will restore your engine's compression.

Oil leak from the hose an 1995 oldsmobile aurora

Mostly likely it's coming from the oil cooler lines from the motor to the radiator. My friend's Aurora has the same leak, we replaced the oil pressure sending unit, which is close by the lines, but the lines, where the compressed part of the fitting was leaking there. The oil cooler lines will have to be replaced.
