There is no Traction control Fuse. That function is controlled by the BCM and ECM. Try cleaning Throttle Body and MAF.

All these modules communicate on the class 2 serial data bus.

The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM requesting illumination. The SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM indicator illuminates for 60 seconds when the condition is present. If your vehicle is equipped with the Traction Control system, this message will stay on a few seconds after the traction system stops limiting wheel spin.

This message will appear when the traction control system is limiting wheel spin. Keep in mind that when the warning lights turn on, a fault code is stored in the ABS control module (in this case). Retrieving, diagnosing, and repairing any ABS system faults will be necessary to keep the light off. A common fault with ABS systems are the wheel speed sensors, stored codes may confirm this.

Could be a bad electrical connection to your Anit-lock brakes and TC harness. These bend back and forth and break over time. The noise can be anything, but if you have a fuel starvation or back pressure issue, the engine will shutter when you push the accelerator down.

This will appear if the tires slip or spin faster than another,but should go off after the slip is done, if the light stays on then have the traction control system checked.

Your car has what is called "traction Control" when wheel slip is detected by the system it takes control of the brake system and stops the spin, some cars call this Stability Control, if the light is always on then the system has a failed part and is turned off by the control unit.

I can't answer the question about the gas fumes, but I had the same problem last year with the "Service Traction Sysytem" message and the Trac and ABS lights coming on in my Impala. Mine turned out to be because of a bad wheel bearing, that was causing the ABS and traction system not to work. I'm not sure if you've experienced this, but another thing that would happen with mine was that I would go to brake and have a hard time depressing the brake pedal, almost like it was pushing back. That is the point when the Trac and ABS lights came on.

This light is usually caused by a problem in the ABS system. A problem in the ABS system will dissable the traction control system. you will need to have the computers scanned for trouble codes.
