Snake pit in back yard, under wood pile. How do I find snakes, and snake pit. And keep them away?

Hi Judy:
Don't know how your question got in the Cars and Trucks section, but had to reply anyway.
Can you give us a hint of your general location, and the kind of snakes you are dealing with?
If the snakes are not presenting a hazard to people they actually may be beneficial by eating rodents or other pests.
My suggestion would be to contact the local Government Conservation Officer for appropriate information.
Please reply as a comment to this post to let us know how it is resolved.
Cheers.

How do I keep rodents from eating the wires on my vehicles or from nesting in the engine compartment

Just read an article in Brake & Front End, (a professional
trade publication ) in the last hour ,about mice eating
the cop ignition wires on 1 coil & going under intake &
eating the knock sensor wires ,on a 2002 Lexus

They didn't say how to stop that

Usually they get into the ducting & you get no air to the
motor, after they bring in their nesting materials & food

Hi:
Unfortunately, there have been lots of cases of rodents chewing on car wiring. In the last five years or so, wire manufacturers have used soy beans as an ingredient in the insulation coating on automobile wiring, and it seems it is tasty to our small friends. Depending on where you park your car , will make you succeptible to it happening again. The Mom of a friend of mine had $1000 worth of damage to her car wiring, as some chipmunks had a field day with her newer car. She ended up placing some moth balls around where her car was parked, to keep the critters away. If you have wildlife near your car, look out!
