1999 Silverado a/c problem

Just for fun,clamp off the heater hoses,just squeeze them flat in place to stop the hot coolant flow through the heater core.Take it for a spin and see if the a/c stays cold.Sometimes with increased hot coolant flow through the heater core with increased engine rpm (driving) and a leaky air flow door in the a/c heater assembly,it can be hard to keep the a/c air cold.

It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

There are many other possibilities causing these idle issues. Engine idles rough.

try flushing your heater core, just be careful and dont break any connectors. The black one is like 5 bucks on ebay but the light color one is 36 bucks at a dealer.

The idle ait control valve is at fault. Replace it and it is a self learning sensor that needs no adjustment as the older models had
