Were the plugs covered in oil? With the plugs that go through the valve cover you might need new seals. Did you replace the plug wires? You need to scan it for codes. It's most likely a missfire, but it could be a bad speed sensor (also called, VSS vehicle speed sensor, cam position sensor,or crank position sensor).

01 dodGe stratus. Starts then dies. When it sits overnight I canfire Otho like there wasn't ever a problem but the when I turn it off or even drive for a bit it dies ignores I turn the key off and

Probably loses either gas or spark. So check fuel pressure when it won't start, and check for spark on a plug wire. If fuel pressure is low, probably a bad pump. If no spark, diagnose the ignition system: coils, ignition coil control module (ICM), crank position sensor, etc.

An easy way to see if you lost gas, is to spray carb cleaner or starting fluid into the air intake while cranking engine. If it rumbles and tries to start, you know it is a fueling problem.

No Spark, No Fire, No Gas in 97 dodge stratus 2.5

just because the pump puts out fuel it may not be putting out the right amount of fuel, alot of fuel systems are extremely picky about volume and pressure. that being said the only way to test it for sure is to hook a gauge up to the service port and ensure the pressure is within the operating thresh hold. as far as your ignition goes most parts stores can duty cycle test your coil. the most likely culprit in my book is the ignition module however. hope this helps, good luck!

Do 2005 dodge stratus sedans have spark plug coil packs or distributer? Is it easy to change the spark plugs yourself?

My 05 Town & Country has three coil packs (V6), I imagine the Stratus does the same. Plugs should be fairly easy to replace, do one at a time so that you don't cross the plug wires. I think this is an aluminum head, so use anti-seize compound on the new plugs and do NOT cross thread or overtighten them. On the T&C, the three rear-side plugs have to be reached from underneath, but on the Stratus you should be able to reach them from the top, due to the longer hood.

yes there is a coil pack, check for spark be inserting a screwdriver in on ov the spark plu wire's and ground it out to the block and have somwhone crank the motor over, if u have spark, it might be the fuel pump or related part's

3 cylinder missing

The most common misfire causes on the cars I've worked on have been:
  1. Spark plugs
  2. Spark plug wires
  3. Ignition coil
  4. Fuel injector
  5. Wiring to fuel injector
  6. Timing Belt
  7. Vacuum leak or stuck open EGR
  8. Contaminated fuel or bad fuel pump
  9. Weak compression
  10. Blown head gasket

1991 Dodge Grand Caravan dies while driving won't restart

If it sputters or hesitates while driving I would suggest a new fuel filter. If it runs smoothly and just dies out you may have a fuel pump which needs to be replaced because it is going bad. If fuel pump relays or other types of relevant fuses are blown it would not start at all. Your mechanic could also pull a spark plug and check for a blueish white high voltage spark if it has an orange or reddish tint that would denote a lower voltage spark normally from a worn out coil pack, spark plug, plug wire etc. Through advanced engine diagnostics you can have your vehicle connected to an oscilloscope or a cylinder dwell meter which can cancel out spark to each cylinder to check for function. However your best bet may be the fuel pump, if your vehicle dies again check to see if your vehicle is getting any fuel first then you'll know for sure.
