Drain shuttle is blocked, leaves etc get stuck down there and block the drain hole in turn the water finds it way out usually thought the heater intake, cannot find a video on your model but its similar on all models. you will just need to look round to where it holds the cover down. Does your car leak when it rains This could be the fix your model will be different. but will work just the same.

Rule of thumb...unless you get a better answer: look for a couple of wires on a small plate that is in the airflow of the fan on the heater/ac unit. The resistor pack is always air cooled by the fan.

Th cowling let in fresh air for the heateer and defroster, Their is a drain in the bottom of the cowling or heater ductwork which allows the water to escape before going into the car. I woudl gues that the drain is stopped up..

The AC evaporator units have a drain hose that runs through the floor because condensed moisture is a fact of life with AC units. Yours is plugged. You will have to get under the vehicle and look for the hose where it comes out, then take like coat hanger wire and clean it out, It is somewhere in the vicinity of where the passenger foot well meets the fire wall. If you have to raise the vehicle to get under it, make certain you have it safely supported. If you don't have the stuff, drive the passenger side wheels up on a good curb and use some cardboard to slide under.
SOURCE: losing brake fluid(2001 kia sportage)
Check the rear wheel cylinders if you have drum brakes on the rear. Check the master cylinder cap to be sure it's on right & snug. Use D.O.T. 3 fluid, not synthetic. If you're losing fluid there's a reason. Check the front brake pads & slides for the calipers, could be frozen with rust & eating up the pads. Fluid would seem low if the pads are shot.

DodgeDakotas dot com has a lot of postngs about water under the Dakota's passenger side carpeting. My own 2005 is leaking, too. Main culprits to check: AC drain tube @ firewall (I think that some Dakotas had to have a 90-degree tube added to the outside end so that water wouldn't blow back into the cab. Great desing, Dodge. Rear window seal; Along the right-side window/roof pillar; the gromment in the passenger side door for a wire pathway. Sounds like some get this fixed under warranty - others meet w. resistance. Good Luck!
