SOURCE: 2006 ford taurus cruise control not working

I would get the owners manual out and find out where the fuse is for the cruise control cause there is a pickup switch for the cruise under the hood by the throttle body when it is engaged you don't have to have your foot on the pedal

So after you push the button and then press the set button in the steering wheel it does not get into cruise control ? It sounds like a minor electrical problem. If you have warranty still I think the dealership should fix it for free.

Sorry i have not been able to help you.

SOURCE: 2001 saab 9-5 electric door lock system does not function

Most likely you have a bad TWICE unit. it is located under the driver's seat, at a low point in the floor and often gets wet.

Might as well check the orange headlight control unit first, as it is an extremely common issue, and will only take you 20 minutes. Here is a step by step tutorial with pictures to examine and repair it. The tutorial is from a 1995 900 but is fully applicable to your car.

SOURCE: Saab 9-3 2.0T Aero 2004 Left Passenger Window

We know the window regulator is good, including the motor and track. The fact that you hear a noise when depressing the driver side switch tells me that there is an open wire (ground side). It could be the the switch on drivers door or the wiring in that circuit. I would ride down an extremely rough stretch of road with my finger holding down the passenger window switch on the drivers side. If it inches down then your open will be a high open where the wire will only be barely seperated. If not the seperation will be a true open. It is usually fairly easy to swap a window switch, just to be sure the open is not in the switch. Hope this helps........Tennis123

2012 Hyundai Elantra, horn and cruise control not working from steering wheel, but the radio controls are working (radio controls on left side, cruise control on right). Could it be the clockspring?

It could be, but you need to do some trouble shooting to determine the issue. Is there power to the switches? is there power to the clock spring? Is there continuity through the clock spring? Determining where the issue is will save $$.

Had this sign limited performance pop up on my dashboard of my 2007 Saab 9-3 1.9tdi had some one look at it they plugged it in and come up with cruise control switch ? and im getting abit of turbolag

I can't see it myself even though I have no experience of the car model.

Lots of the vehicle content is Vauxhall/Opel/GM (I think) suitably modified by Saab.
It doesn't sound logical that a dodgy cruise control switch would cause reduced performance. A reduced performance condition is usually caused by something that affects tailpipe emissions or something affecting engine integrity or reliability.

I heard on the grapevine some Vauxhall models have reduced performance simply because they are overdue for some maintenance and once the service indicator has been reset they are fine again. I don't know how true this is. I know of one Vauxhall that flags up an overboost fault and cuts performance when there is an egr valve fault. The true cause could not be discovered by a generic obd scanner and it was only when it was plugged into something with some very expensive dedicated software that it became obvious.

There is no telling what the Saab boffins have done to the management programmes. There are vehicles around that go into reduced performance if the oil level or pressure is low and maybe they thought that might be a good idea.

I suggest you continue your Saab research at the local Saab dealer or on one of the specialised forums, but certainly I suggest you get the code re-read by a dedicated diagnostic machine.

How to fix cruise control that is not engaging. What should be checked/tried 1st, 2nd, etc.

certainly sounds suspect
As a point of interest, any parts removed are yours by law and have to be given back to you
so ask for the old parts and have them checked by an accredited auto electrician
the cruise control is operated by several sensors and if any one is not operational the control will not work
1-- vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
2--engine rpms system
3-- ( if manual) clutch sensor
4-- brake sensor
5---ECM
one button is working but the other side (set button ) is controlled by the VSS, brake (clutch) sensors and the ecm or RPM system
cruise controls will not engage under certain speeds or RPMS what all that means is that if the road speed is below a set point, engine rpms are below a point or VSS is faulty , the cruise control will not engage until those conditions are exceed ,or will disengage if conditions fall below the set points b

Cruise control works intermittently

The problem most likely is with the cruise control computer (ECU) and the fix is to replace it with an older version. I had the same problem and tried replacing other parts and even replacing the ECU with a rebuilt one of the same vintage as the 1993 model. I had the ECU replaced with the previous version at a Saab specialist and it now works all the time. There is a difference in the connections between the different year ECUs that requires some rewiring - you can find rewiring information on the internet.
