SOURCE: I have a coolant leak on my 2001 chevrolet

You need to pressure test the system to determine exactly where the leak is coming from...Because it could be any hose, pipe, or even the intake manifold gasket...But just pressure test it, and that will save you alot of time and money...

I started my 1999 chevy silverado 5.3 liter this morning, 30 mins later i see a puddle underneath the truck and its running hot, its a steady drip. Also the heater has not been working right. Can anyone...

sounds like you have a coolant leak, if coolant is low it will cause both of your symtoms as to where it is coming from, there are many places but common ones are hoses/clamps, water pump or radiator.

Need best way to clean coolant from crank in 5.7 chevy

Not good my friend most or all of the coolant should be gone by now. sounds like you might have a hairline crack alowing antifreeze to newly enter your crankcase. Antifreeze in an engine for more than 100 miles turns into a creamy foam that exits your drain plug. and if the engine overheated and stalled out definitly. sorry Man.

I'm having overheating problems with my 2004 chevy silverado two wheel drive ext cab. I'm frequently havining to add coolant. I have not found any leaks and have not smelled any anti-freeze.

Check your transmission dip stick to make sure it's not going in to your transmission from a bad transmission cooler which is incorporated with the radiator.
The only other thing that i can think of, which is common is the intake gasket may have failed and your losing your coolant from there and being burnt through your engine. If it's a slow enough leak, your not going to see any coolant cause it's going through your engine's combustion chamber with the intake air.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

Water in oil

Hello, it seems that you have intake gaskets leaking. I'll bet you have the vortec 350. This is a common problem with the vortec, Gm uses plastic intake gaskets and they blow out over time usually to the externally but yours is internally. It is a pretty easy fix for the average mechanic to do. Thank you

Cooling leaking inside engine

If it does there may be a recall on it. Always check with the dealer before doing a big repair. Even though the truck is old they may still do it for free.
