Under the dash on the passenger side, pull it off after draining the radiator fluid from hoses that connect to it from the motor. Do it cold too

Location of heater core and removal

The heater core is in the a/c heater box assembly. You will have to remove the entire dash assembly then the assembly will come out. Large job, not for novices.

Does complete panel need to be removed to get to heater core on 1985 ford crown victoria

unfortunatly yes it does, I have witnessed one of these changed before in a shop that I was working in and you should plan for a whole day to change the heater core.

How do i get to my heater core 1995 ford crown vic

Your heater core is located behind the dash. You need to remove the dashboard and your heater core will be located on the passenger side along the firewall. It will look like a small radiator. Get yourself a haynes manual for good step by step instructions and pictures to remove your dash.

Heater core replacement

If you replace the HEATER CORE, you might want to also replace the BLEND DOOR MOTOR as well while you're in there. These units tend to go bad very often in Crown Victoria's and Grand Marquis'. The job can be difficult but there are several ways to short cut it. You had to remove the dash board but if you have a 3 ft 2x4 or bar, you can prop the dashboard open after getting 75% of the screws out. The heater box is located behind the glove box. Take screws out from the top of the dashboard(right under windshield) and sides for easy access.
