If you had a "Bose" sound system - Factory installed - it should have and Amplified System - which means the original stereo will supply power to the Speaker Amps - that is the circuit that didn't get connected and why there is no sound.

Once the transmission starts to slip that is pretty much it, there is nothing that can be done except to remove the transmission and rebuild it or install a factory remanufactured unit. Beware of cheap rebuilds like O'Riley or Autozone can order, use a genuine GM reman, you will not be sorry.
