Locate 1997 eldorado fan motor relay - Cars & Trucks

We have no factory manuls avail to us here at fixya.

Might be the Resistor pack located close to the blower. It has a flat connector with 4 or 5 wires, and two small screws holding in the duct. It may be a crispy critter. It happens... The blower moves air across it to keep it cool. The blower motor may be bad as well, or possibly the fan speed switch. May very well be the fuse for the blower as well. The blower connector may be loose. Let me know what you find.

DOSE IT HAVE ELEC FAN MOTOR OR MECH FAN IF ELEC ITS THE SENSOR TO TURN TH FAN ON CAN BE JUMPED OUT INCASE OF EMERGENCY IFF MECH FAN NEED THERMOSTAT

It should be under the hood in the fuse box there look at the lid for the location of the relay in that box.

Engine coolant temperture sensor, This sensor runs the cooling fans. Before that I would check fuses and relays to the fans.

there is a relay panel under the hood with your engine cooling fan relay inside, a 12 dollar part, sounds to me like this relay may need to be replaced. There will be a diagram in your owners manual telling you exactly where it is located in your car. It should be noted that this relay has to be activated before the current reaches any fuse inside the cars fuse panel so your fan fuses can all be good but if the relay is not working the engine cooling fans will not come on. Be careful of dealerships I had one tell me it was a 3000 dollar wiring problem when it was only the relay.

the fans have relays that are located in the fuse box under the hood on the driver side. a quick check involves just switching the a/c clutch relay with the fan relay if they turn on when engine is hot the relay is bad. if not that means there is a bad connection or the temp probe is bad. make sure no loose or frayed wires are present. hope this helps. please rate this solution. thank you.
