2000 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 will not start...

My 2000 4.0 Jaguar S-Type was running fine when I drove it to my cousins house but when I tried to leave 3 hours later I turned it on, it shook (kind of like an old car in need of a tune up) and shut off. I tried to start if after that and no luck. This was just out of the blue. No warning signs at all... the car was fine before this. We changed the battery and it still won't start... I had some problems with my headlights in the past... They just went dim... but that was it. Not sure if its my key or if its an electrical problem???? No check engine lights come on.... If anyone knows whats going on, please help!!!!

It is your electronic control module which is the BRAIN of the car and this is a computer which runs the entire car and it is offline it may need to be reflashed by a mechanic shop with the proper software through a laptop. Electrical problem is what it is. get a diagnostic scan performed on it ok?

2003 Jaguar s-type Transmission fault car wont move

First off check the battery. Try and jump start it. If that does not get the vehicle running you may have a problem with your J gate as it will not start unless in park or neutral. If an internal electrical fault has happened then the micro swith may not send a signal to the ecu to allow the car to start. the J gate is the gear selector by the way

Where is #2 cylinder on 2000 jaguar s type 4.0?And what is code p0302

I recently starting having this problem also (only code p0305/308). That code means "miss-fire" on #2 cylinder. The #2 cylinder is the nearest cylinder on the right (closest to front of car on drivers side) if you are standing in the front of the car.

Cold start

Obviously a sensor feeding wrong info to computer for cold start/running. Will save money in long run if you have it scanned for free at auozone, or PEP boys.
