This was not the case ever before. It may be a coincidence, but my battery also went dead within 24 hours of this beginning. There are no lights or other warnings on dash. New battery is holding full charge still overnight and I'm not sure the two are related. Ideas?

replace your starter. I think that you are expecting your problem to be in the same place as the repair you had done. General motors is famous for this problem. your starter will work fine but when the car sits the starter will drain your batt. even if the starter is taken off and tested they will tell you that's not the problem. I've been almost right where your at.

Do you have a battery charger? If you do, connect the red(positive) clamp on the charger (+) to the Positive (+) battery post. Then connect the black(negative) clamp on the charger (--) to the (--)(negative) battery post. Make sure these are hooked up this way, if they aren't, you can damage the car's charging system (big bucks to fix). When you are sure the charger is connected to the battery properly, plug the charger in. It would be best to let it charge overnight. You must then find out why the battery went dead, otherwise, when you go out someplace and turn the car off, you may not be able to start it up again. If it's the original battery it's time to get a new one. You can drive to a major parts store, they will check the battery and car's charging system to see what's wrong for free.Good Luck countrycurt0

yes there is a relay switch in engine compartment or under dash

If the starter is turning the engine, try re-setting the security system (leave key on till light stops blinking.) If the starter does not turn, you may have some success in re-setting system, if not you need to check battery voltage and voltages in starter system till you find the problem...can be something as simple as a bad connection at the battery. If you need help with further testing, just ask.

Hi John,
Had a similar problem with my Saturn. Door chime going all the time, the seat belts going up - down - up for no apparent reason.
Turned out to be the switch in the door jamb had become unseated. As it randomly made and broke contact, the cars computer thought the doors were opening and closing, then acted accordingly.
I remounted it with the help of a hot glue gun (plastic mount).
Hope this info helps with your problem.
Best regards
Mike
