SOURCE: fuel filter

It has been my experience with imports that their fuel filters typically are located either in the gas tank or in the fuel line from the gas tank to the pump. It will mostlikely be mounted to the frame of the vehicle and be metal.

SOURCE: where is my fuel filter 2001 nissan altima

Most of the time there is an inlet screen/filter in fuel tank attached to fuel pump. But there should be another filter between tank and fuel rail. it should be located on the firewall, so if you work backward from an injector toward the gas tank you will bump right in to the filter along the way.

SOURCE: Xterra Transmission Filter

the filter is made of metal mesh and doesn't need to be changed...only flushed and refilled with trans. fluid.

SOURCE: change brake light on 2006 Xterra

After you remove the 2 bolts there is 2 cone shaped tensioners that help hold the taillight housing on. Grab the taillight firmly on the top and bottom, and pull it straight towards you until the tensioners pop. They will not be damaged and are made to pop in and out.
Then find the bulb housing of the burnt bulb, turn the housing clockwise, and remove the bulb housing, remove the bulb by pulling on the black base of the bulb only on the short sides on the housing. (DO NOT pull on the glass, as it may break in your hand). Then slide the replacement bulb into the housing (it can go in either direction), and repeat the steps in reverse order. to put the housing and taillight back on.
Be careful to tighten the taillight bolts by hand only, they have a plastic thread sleeve that is easily stripped by a drill.

Where is fuel filter cap on 2006 nissan exterra?

After purchase of an Xterra (my first Nissan product) the first thing I did was to go on ebay and acquire an owners manual and a Chilton/Haynes repair manual. Your Xterra may be new enough to be able to purchase at auto parts store or Walmart. The information is invaluable when it comes to minor to moderate repairs and maintenance.

Only Ford Products have a fuel reset. You need to be upside down or in a
serious accident, for them to trip.

Try disconnecting the battery

Cranks but won`t start will start with starting fliud for a few

fuel problem then .either a plugged fuel filter or the fuel pump is not working .. if you were to shoot a little fuel into the throat of the throttle body or air cleaner area you say it will run .? if so you are not getting fuel up to there . sounds like maybe a possable pump . always replace cheapest thing first like filter .. thanks Jerry holler if you need more.
