How can you tell if you rock modular is out? The shop say I need one $1100 for my 205 Lincoln LS V6,3.0 and there no guarantee that will fix problem no signals to plugs, coils and Injectors
Install a throttle body sounds like it out of gas, I'm not really sure if they checked the angle crank sensor when ask it was like oh no that not the problem his expert tech told him
Before going to the extreme of new computer i would check the crank angle sensor. With older cars there was a ignition distributor a mechanical part that physically triggered each spark plug when it needed to fire. That has been phased out so the crank angle sensors job is to inform the ecu of the rotational position of the engine to trigger the spark plug coils and injectors. It usually reads of the flywheel or the crank pulley

HAVE TO USE OEM-- NGK -- Plugs (Rock Auto.Com
or NGK web site)
I said OEM Tip Config,NOT ford parts,they
were NGK off the assy line. The ford ones are the
WRONG tip,those folks don't care!
Replace ALL the COP Ignition Coils
The coils are your ONLY Problem
I know because I have a 2004 L/S & ten years diagnostic
experience with them, with professional tools
You only have 2 Fail Safes
one for overheating & one that says ETC
Don't even try to figure out the obd codes or the etc thing
Take too long to explain
The dealers can't fix that car,the coils when they get really
bad spike the drivers in the pcm & you loose tps signal & go into
etc failsafe & can only go 6 mph
There is no factory manual that tells you that & your etc on a
wiring diagram is the app or gas pedal, but on the obd codes it
is the throttle body P2100 codes that point to the motor or
tacm,& that is not the problem
So the answer is-- no one likes or understands that car, nor can they
fix one,so replace all the coils yourself, they only last 6 to 7 years
Only need on 7mm socket & get the coils from RockAuto,Com
I use Wells Coils
The front Oxygen Sensors have to be replaced at 100,000 miles
Better be changing that Tran Fluid on ALL your vehicle every 2 or 3
year or they WILL FAIL I guarantee it & power steering fluid also
Hey Chelsea, I would have the transmission fluid and filter changed and see what happens. If this does not fix it... time for a transmission repair shop trip.. find a QUALIFIED professional to do the work - THAT GUARANTEES THEIR WORK!!
Stop driving it,until you change the Tran Solenoid Pack, inside the oil pan.
$332.00 wholesale
If you go to a shop,it will be more, plus labor.
If you go to a dealer, you can make a mortgage payment, just to fix your car
Very likley could be electrical, and the p[arts may have niot needed replacing...sounds like they just took out parts and replaced as a guess we will see if it fixes it deal.
first thing is the engine light on?
these cars had problems with the on plug ign coils and if this is a misfire the comp will tell you which cyl is the problem.
