i have a 98 plymouth grand voyager, when i slow down and

ground fault in system

turn off or bypass alarm, it has an ignition cut off. should help

Its prob a fuse, maybe hazard light fuse

sounds like ECM might be draining the battery..i own a 92 and had that problem...i removed the #3 fuse from fuse box and charged battery to full and problem was resolved...#3 fuse controls interior cabin lights.The ecm is behind the fuse box and expensive to replace.I could only find 1 in the USA and the serials have to match or reflash the old ECM if repairable. Try that fuse first temporarily. I just left mine unplugged and haven't had the drainage problem since.

Try key in drivers door, lock, unlock then back to straight. If no luck try passenger as well.

This may sound a bit simple but check the starter solenoid function by running an external wire to the thin wire terminal from the positive post on the battery.

If the starter does nothing then the starter is bad.

What your describing is a typical solenoid / starter problem. Given the car is now 10 year old, it is quite possible that either the solenoid or starter has failed.

hi, have exactly the same problem on a 2000 2.5 tdi, have rectified it by removing first fuse at top of box. This controls central locking, stereo & interior lights so now I just have to trace fault. when you reconnect battery I hear a relay clicking from both the left & right hand sides which seems to be on the bulkhead, these relays are not releasing and are discharging the battery after 3 days. If you can live without the above try it, your odometer light will go off too.
