SOURCE: 2004 chevy trailblazer 73,000 miles

the first place to start is the flashing engine lite. that means cylinders are not firing at all or improperly and driving it like that for even short period could cause heavier damage. particularly valves and cat converter(s) the computer really needs to be scanned for codes in order to proceed. did the oil lite come on before or after engine quit. after engine quit would be normal cause it stalled. its possible that it needs spark plugs and/or coils. or more

SOURCE: 2004 Trailblazer is hard to

There is a sensor in the hydralic steering line that tells the PCM to raise the engine RPMs when power is called for when idling. Check to see if the wire connector is attached, if so you may need to have the sensor replaced.

The reservoir is mounted on top of PS pump. (You need to find a new mechanic) Check online parts store for pics of your unit - you'll see pic.

2005 Mercury. Problem with steering hard to turn on it after I changed the power steering pump. It is still hard to turn?

Didn't I answer this yesterday?
Question edited for clarity. Please always include model. Some models have known issues!

Sometimes after a power steering pump is installed, reduced pressure inside the hydraulic lines will build, which can create the symptoms you're experiencing. In other cases, low power steering fluid levels can cause this to occur, as can air bubbles trapped in the hydraulic lines.

05 trailblazer chugs at 48 mph

Hi, what do you mean by chugs at 48 mph ? Doesn't it go any faster then 48 mph, does it lose power, bog down when you press the gas pedal to the floor. Does it have a misfire , that makes the vehicle buck and jerk ! Is the check engine light on or any other lights for that matter ? How many miles are on this trailblazer ?

Power sterring is diffulcult, barely can turn sterring wheel.

Check the power steering fluid level.
If the fluid level is low, you obviously have a leak somewhere and it should be repaired. If the level is up, watch the power steering pump while the engine is running; is the pulley turning freely?
Power steering systems are hydraulic devices. The pump provides the pressure and the steering gear or rack and pinion assembly (depending on the vehicle type) applies pressure in the direction that you are turning the wheel to assist with the steering. When the hydraulics fail or when the internal components fail, your strength is the only thing turning the steering.
But start with the fluid.

2004 Trailblazer is hard to to steer when the RPM's of the vehicle drop to idle speed. It acts like it doesn't have power steering but if you raise the RPM's it's fine. Supposedly had a new pump installed...

2003 Trailblazer loses power, I am getting codes P1271 and P1271p/d

#PIT3138A: 02-05 Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile and GMC Mid-Sized Utilities Reduced Power Light On and DTC P1680 P1221 and/or P1271 Stored in the PCM - kw fan clutch SES light power MIL 4.2 LL8 - (Nov 1, 2004)
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Reduced power light on and DTC P1680 P1221 and/or P1271 stored in the PCM
Recommendation/Instructions:
Monitor the 5V reference to the Accelerator Pedal Position ( APP ) sensor, circuit 1274, using Peak Min/Max on a Fluke 87. Refer to Si document 1454678 for the 5V reference schematics. Command the fan clutch control "on" with the Tech 2 at 50%. If when commanding the fan clutch on, the 5V reverence spikes to battery voltage, the concern is the 5V reference shorted to battery voltage intermittently inside cooling fan clutch. Replace the fan clutch to repair this concern.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
Models:
(02 - 05 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trailblazer EXT) and (02 - 05 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL and Envoy XUV ) and (02 - 05 Buick Rainier) and (02 - 04 Oldsmobile Bravada)
