Could be a bad sensor which is in hub bearing you have to replace hub bearing or bad wire which is broken computer will show bad sensor, first check all wires if they are broken.

Hi,
Something, somewhere is unhappy. What you need to do is get the car hooked up to a computer, and see what it thinks the issue is. Usually, it is not harsh, but some connector or wheel bearing sensor or similar stuff. The computer will have the code as to what and where.

So, yes, meanwhile the brakes work. They really designed them to pretty much always work. What you DON'T have is computer intervention in an accident situation or skidding situation, just same old brakes.

Get this looked into forthwith. You bought the nice car with all of the safety features. Sometime maintenance must happen. Likely not a huge deal.

Do not delay.

Low brake fluid level has got the brake light lit. The ABS light can be ignored. It wont effect normal braking.

Changed battery on my 2003 S-type v6, starts fine, runs fine but all the lights in the dash are on. How can I reset?

Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and connect it back up again and re-check.

Were these same warning lights displaying before the battery was replaced?

How to reset brake lite on my 2005 X type jaguar?

which brake warning light is on? the xtype does not have pad wear sensors fitted. so i guess you mean the abs light or the handbrake light.more than likely its the abs light and the common problem is the reluctor rings on one or the other of the rear outer constant velocity joints corroded/ fell off get the fault codes out of the abs module to help.

Check your brake fluid level first. If it is fine then you probably have a bad abs brake sensor.

2001 jaguar s type. Traction controll fault light came on. 5 minutes later brake light comes on and at the same time abs light comes on. What could my problem be?

your traction control mechanism uses the abs breaks to slow the spinning and give you better traction. i'm thinking your traction control sensor has gone bad

2 weeks after I had brake pads replaced ABS and TC light came on and it was found that a sensor connection was loose. Drove fine for 2 weeks and light came on again. Serviced aging and a new sensor placed....

Good chance that the ABS sensor need to be adjusted to the speed ring on the hub. it's a common thing that happens when the brakes has been service and the technician did not measure the gap between the sensor and speed ring on the hub. Clean the speed ring on the hubs and measure the gap the the ABS sensor to the speed ring and double check the wire harness. inspect for any damages like corrosion. The gap should be 0.005 to 0.050 inch (0.127mm to 1.270mm), use a brass feeler gauge so it wont stick to the magnetic abs sensor. Good luck and hope this helps.

ABS LIGHT ON

You need to go to a qualified mechanic and have the codes pulled from the abs system for proper diagnosis. These repairs can be expensive. A.B.S. stands for anti-lock braking system. When the light is on your abs will be disabled and if you have to make a panic stop you brakes could lock up and you may not be able to steer around the problem.

2001 S Type Jaguar ABS and Traction Control fault lights on

Hi First I suggest that you get a diagonostic check on ABS system. and then a visual inspection of the brakes. Warped brake rotors do not make noice, but the steering will start to judder when brakes applied at around speeds from 40 up . Possible cause that the vehile picked up something from road such as nylon/ plastic/stone Mike
