that is a safety feature to stop children playing with windows. On my Lexus ES330, there is a button just ahead of the driver's 4 button window control. It controls whether passengers can use windows or not on the other three doors. Consult your manual
Page 55 and 56 refers to it as a child safety switch, it is marked 'S' on the diagram and is behind your 4 switches on the right.
Child safety switch is pressed in, the
When the safety switch 'S' in the switch lights up. The window switches in the rear doors are deactivated.
Sounds like it fell off the track.Remove door panel and speaker to get a good look inside door. There is a motor and a cable that moves the window up and down on the regulator. you could plug the switch in and watch it work . It could be the regulator and most are held in by rivets just drill them out and use nuts and bolts
leave well alone as the confort system is playing up this is a compliated set of microprocessors and relays in a box built into teh motor and the only way to sort it is to replace the whole motor assembly ,
I assume they all (windows)have automatic feature(should say on master switch ALL AUTO) , two clickes on each switch.First click for manual rolling , second click for auto rolling.
If that so , you can try to reset them :
Put the ignition on or start the car , close all doors ,
roll window up on first click and hold it for 10 sec. , then go down and do the same when window is down. If it doesn't work with the first click , try it on the second click. Roll it up and hold switch for 10sec.
, then down and hold switch down for 10 sec.
This procedure will not work if you only have auto on driver window.
Hope it helps.
I had the same issue with the passenger side rear window. I took the panel off (one screw under the window switch and one screw located behind the door handle. There is a small black cover over the screw.) I then took the motor off of the door and track system. After the track was off, I plugged the motor back into the wiring harness and tried the switch. Mine actually worked and the gear spun, if not, it will be a pricey window motor about $150-$250 depending on where you get it. Good luck! Sean
we can try the obvious, theres the window cancel button on the driver master panel. or if the one touch feature doesnt work. roll each window all the way down and then all the way up and that will reinitialize it.
Sounds like you need to reset the auto up/down feature. Most vehicles require you to "roll" the window down, hold for 10 secs, roll the window up, and hold switch for 10 secs. This should reset it. If not, you may need to do reverse of what I said.
