A vehicle that old will suffer from brittle and cracked vacuum lines. I would say there is a bad, or several bad lines leaking away vacuum from the intake manifold. Don't forget to check the hose going to the PCV on the valve cover. A vacuum leak will also cause the engine to stumble and miss intermittently when idling.

You can do it if you really wanted to. You'll need to make sure the steering wheel is secured and that the wheels are perfectly straight or you will wreck the front tires. You will be adding unneeded mileage onto the the car by having the front wheels turning. would be better and less costly overall to get trailer that you can put the front end up on.
SOURCE: opel astra headlight adjustment
two screws on each headlight control the direction the headlights are aimed. One screw, usually at the top but sometimes below the headlight, adjusts the headlight up and down. The other screw, located to one side, controls the headlight from right to left. Turning the appropriate screw one direction or the other will change the direction the headlight points.
In order to aim your headlights you need to have a flat vertical surface you can aim your headlights at in front of a level surface on which to park the car. If your driveway is level your garage door is the perfect place to aim your headlights.
The tools you will need for this job are simple. Masking tape is used to mark where the headlights are to be aimed and a screwdriver is needed to adjust the headlights. A tape measure will be necessary to measure the distance of the vehicle to the surface you're using to check the aim and to measure the up and down distances from your marks
SOURCE: In my 2000 Saturn SL1 I am experiencing very high idle
You could try replacing the idle air control valve but I would obtain one from a local salvage yard, its cheaper and you are not certain if thats the problem, another thing i would check is your intake manifold gasket where it meets the cylinder head, if tha gasket is cracked or leaking it will allow excess air to enter the engine and make it idle higher, the easiest way to verify this is get a can of carb and choke cleaner and spray it all around the intake gasket area, if the engines idling characteristics change drastically then the gasket is bad and needs to be replaced if theres no change in the idle I would start looking for vacumm leaks and the idle control valve issue, which you specified.
