Hello Bobbythegray,
They come in two flavors..
The PRECISE part & method would
require your model...
1). Just the "pulley" (as you indicate)
2). Tension ARM & pulley

On the right side of the pulleys, there should be 3 top, middle, and bottom. The middle, smaller one, is the tensioner.

I suggest purchasing a repair manual and following the steps in there as there is too great a risk of someone putting it on here and forgetting a step that makes it even more difficult or expensive. The auto parts places will loan you the harmonic balancer puller you will need. I have done two on 94 Escorts and it's not too bad compared to others. I would strongly recommend replacing the crankshaft seal while you have the end of the crank exposed, replacing the seal is in the book too.

All pulleys should be running true. If you have a pulley not centered then replacement is an option.

there is a belt tensioner pullery that is a small pulley not connected to any type of engine part but is on the serpentine belt system, you have to tighten this pulley with a socket until the belt doesnt squeal

Make sure you locate the Serpentine Belt Routing Sticker before you proceed. If not make an excellent drawing and take a GOOD Picture. Do NOT try to just remember how it goes back on Should be a 15mm wrench to loosen tensioner to remove belt. Locate mounting bolts to tensioner and remove, replace with NEW tensioner tighten bolts then use wrench arc torque about 15 degrees should snug it down, reroute belt then using 15mm pull tensioner to either side of belt to install belt in correct route. Remove all tools and body parts from engine bay. Do not start engine if anyone is in the vicinity of engine bay. Belt may fly off if you did not do it right and cause all kinds of shrapnell, if it doesn't fly off, visually inspect belt before starting and after, I would suggest being very careful before during and after starting to insure safety.
