make sure your cap and rotor timing is correct double check spark plug routes (mistakes happen). maybe your timing is off in general.

SOURCE: My 2000 oldsmobile bravada does not want to start

This is kind of a long shot but if it is difficult to start after sitting all night but then starts just fine during the rest of the day then you may be just a pound or two low on fuel pressure. This engine needs a minimum of 60 psi of fuel to start properly. If you have only 59 psi it will crank and crank and finally start but will behave all day long as if nothing was ever wrong. You could also have a leaky fuel regulator or injector that is causing it to be partially flooded when you attempt to start it but usually those problems bothers more after the engine is warmed up. Even some new fuel pumps won't put out the needed 60+ psi and sometimes the fuel pressure regulator can go bad and not allow the pressure to build up to the 60+ psi range. The only true way to know for certain what the actual pressure is to have someone test it with a very accurate test gauge. Hope this helps out a bit and good luck.

Chevy venture stalled

Compression, spark , timing , fuel for any engine to run. Don't forget a stopped up catalytic convertor will have the same effect as you described. Backfiring of course is fouled plugs, bad plug wires, look for arcing from wires when it is dark outside. If it has a distributor check for cracked cap, had my 91 GMC start backfiring then die due to ignition module inside distributor going bad. It would start back up after it cooled for about 10 minutes.

CAR WONT START!!! I was driving and the car

Issues are most likely to arise with the spark and fuel (and 90% will be spark), so solving starting and stalling problems should begin there, after you've made a general inspection to make sure all hoses and wires are connected, and that the air filter isn't clogged solid with dirt.
A warning here before we go any further: If you're using an aftermarket distributor cap, rotor, igniter, coil and/or plug wires, be aware that quality is variable and they are unlikely to be anywhere near OEM standard, even if they're sold as "premium". There's a reason such parts are cheaper. Poor-quality aftermarket parts can (will) cause their own problems that can greatly complicate diagnosis of starting problems. For the little extra cost, new OEM is always the safest. Also, never crank the engine with the plug wires removed, or with the distributor cap off, except for brief (very brief) testing purposes. Doing so can overheat and damage the ignition coil.

96 accord ex wont start

Firing sequence is off or plug wires are not connected completely. check the firing order, to the plugs and make sure all connections are on (you will have to push down on top of boot pretty hard to get a good connection)

If it is turing over jump starting isn't gonig to help (you battery if fine unless you have drained all the power from it)

I have a 2000 oldsmobile bravada. The truck just stopped a couple of weeks ago. I got a PCM from the junk yard and replaced that. Still no start. I replaced the fuel pump and today I get it to start and...

make sure you check the simple things. like the fuel filter if they get plugged they will give low to no fuel pressure. plug wires if they haven't been changed for a while.plugs themselves will tell you lots take them out and check them to see how they look.
