There is a resistor up inside the fender that is for 3.8 cars for the fuel pump i have encountered this one time but it fixed it when the fuel [pump didnt

    onn the passenger side if you remove the inner wheel well you can see it it is shaped like a u and is ceramic

I am not sure of the years, but many pontiacs use the oil pressure switch in order to determine if the fuel pump should be cut off, to avoid a fire hazard in an accident. A bad oil sender can do this exact symptom.

2000 grand prix, 3800 when it warms up losses power

I would have to say the fuel/water separator filter is clogged up. The filter will remove water and crud from the gas. It looks more like a small can under the car. If the car set up with a low tank of gas, water will condensate inside and once the new fuel sloshes around it gets all this junk off the walls of the tank and that gets sucked in the filter. Try and replace that first..

has to be corroded fuel pump resistor behind passenger head light under hood but Im sure by now you have done the research and found that out already 97 gtps had recalls because its in an easy spot to get corroded can buy a new kit for 40 bucks or so through gm or online

97' Pontiac Gran Prix Won't Stay running

Known GTP problem.

You most likely have a bad fuel pump resistor, which controls 2 speeds of the fuel pump.

To check to see if this is the problem, there is a trick you can do and its very easy to do. Go to the attached link, and bend the tab my finger is pointing at and then plug it back in. If your car starts and runs fine, well we just solved the problem.

1997 Grand Prix GTP starts but wont run for more than 5 Sec

is this a supper cahrged grand prix if so check fuel pump resistor located behind right front head light or on fire wall its made of white ceramic has to wires going to it jump the two wire on the connection going to it if it runs longer then 15 min then replace resiustor.
