Where do I place the jack for the rear tire on 2004 GMC Envoy XL? The directions look like they want me to place it behind the tire underneath? I can can't find a location to place the jack?

The jack goes under the rear axle shaft tube halfway between the anti sway bar bracket and the suspension spring. The diagram is in the owner's manual under section 5

There should be a diagram in the spare tire compartment or on the jack itself. Usually the jack goes just behind the wheel on the underside of the body
Since the spare is mounted under the rear of the car, Its not easy...you have to assemble the long crank rod out of its two pieces, then feed the rod through the hole in the top of the rear bumper and lock it into the mechanism that holds the tire in place. Once the crank rod is locked in, lower the tire towards the ground. Once the tire is low enough, you can crawl under the car and release the tire from its mount. The hardest part is locking the crank rod into the spare tire mechanism through the hole in the bumper.
Just behind right rear tire up in the wheel well. Air inlet is inside right rear quarter near the accessory inflator. Compressor runs 3 lines one for the accessory inflator and one for each air bag.
THere are also 2 sensors, one on each trailing arm that senses load and then raises and lowers accordingly.
take your jack handle out from the left rear compartment like 3-4 pieces
join them together
on the right side you will see an acess hole
there is a square end the jack handle fits into then turn the jack handle counter clock wise and the tire will lower
