Check your timing belt by carefully removing the timing belt pulley cover to the left of the valve cover. The valve cover houses the spark plugs. You should be able to flash a flashlight down and see your timing belt. Most likely, you have a timing belt going, or a shaving stuck in your VCT solenoid. I'm guessing the belt is worn and has slipped a tooth or two. I would take caution driving it as it's been disputed that it could be an interference engine, and you could do serious damage to your vehicle.

SOURCE: OXYGEN SENSOR BAD IN 2000 FORD ESCORT CAN I CHANGE IT MY SELF

Ok, the title didn't show all the question; and you ask if you can change the oxygen sensor yourself.

The answer is yes, and it is very simple.

There are actually 2 oxygen sensors on your vehicle, both are located on the catalytic converter. The first is located at the top of the exhaust coming out of the cylinder head, and the other is located on the underside of the vehicle on the same pipe coming off the engine. They look identical, except the underside has a much longer wire clip coming from it. Here is a picture of it.e4d9846.jpg

Have you changed your oil? Rotella 15W-40. These engines really don't like old oil. It becomes too thick for the injection pump to work correctly. Another possibility is a bad cam sensor on the front of the motor. Most engines call this the crank sensor but on this engine you have to look it up as a cam sensor.

I have a problem with disc brakes, 5-6days to destroy them and the car shakes ... why?

car shakes which is called shimmy shake,if brake pads been replaced wheels still shimmy, you have worn brake rotors with low and high spots, you could have bad wheel bearing, you have worn out tie rod ends and worn out ball joints, you could have tire out of balance, also you could need front end alignment.many things will cause wheels to do the shimmy shake.

sounds like the pcv valve is bad in valve cover. if the pcv valve is bad it will create a pressure in crankcase and oil has to come out some where. check all gaskets. the pcv valve is under 10 dollars, and only about 5 minutes to change.

Front end problems

hard to say what is the symptoms front end shaking or shimmying could be a tire out of balance, bad tire(broken belt, goose egg on the tire). is the tires screaming could be alignment problems. is it pulling to one side or the other could be a hanging break caliper (pulls to side caliper is hanging on) alignment problem (bent or broken tie rod ends) car shakes or shimmy when brakes are applied usually is a bad or warped rotor. the possibility is endless.

My 1989 ford truck 300 6cyl eng idles but will not accelerate.i changed fuel filter and idle air valve but no change in performance

if you have fuel injection then it could be a injector/s is/are bad if this happend al at once then it could be that its a sensor bad like the TPS (on gm) throdle posistion sensor the only way to determan whats going on is to have it hooked up and tested to see whats going on if you can get it to auto zone or advanced auto parts they can check for free if you have one around your area call around the small shops in your area and ask what it would cost to have it hooked up to find the problem

2000's F-150 5.4 L shakes during acceleration

Visit your local Auto-Zone or similar auto parts outlet, they should scan your system for you for free and tell you what the "check engine" code(s) indicate. I am suspecting it will report a "misfire" condition. That could be a result of a bad injector, spark plug or coil/wire problem. Sometimes the code(s) is/are specific as to which of those things is the problem.

My truck shakes too

Is it time for a tune up? Could be water getting into one of the coil packs which will cause a misfire under acceleration.

02 f 250 frt end shimmy

If you have had everything checked and it seems like everything is fine. I would check your tires. You may have a bad tire. I had a similar problem on my Explorer, really bad shimmy and shake sometimes. I new everything was ok, because it was basically a new vehicle. But it turned out to be the tires that had staterd to seperate. Hope this helps.
