SOURCE: 2005 Nissan Maxima SE Fog light replacement

jorgeva: on the driver's side to gain access, you must remove the air cleaner assembly. At that point, you can see the back of the light which has a plastic cap. Rotate this "counter clockwise" and you can pull it back from the back of the lamp housing. From there you will see how the bulb it self is plugged in, which is obvious. Unplug it. There is a "spring "like latch retainer to hold the bulb in place. Unlatch it, remove the bulb and install the new bulb.
CAUTION!!!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS AREA OF THE NEW BULB! Only handle the rear section. Reassemble in the reverse order.
The right side will require the removal of the windshield washer tank.
I trust this will have answered your question. If you would, let me or FIXYA know if I have solved your problem......

SOURCE: nissan maxima 2000 replace solenoid/page-2

If the transaxle is all factory original & it does not
up shift as well as has a code & no OD,then you
may as well put it out & rebuild it.

Close to 14 years is great for any transmission.

In the future you change your trans & power steering
fluids every 3 years & at first sign of any trans issue
you stop driving it immediately, drive no more than
5 miles to get home or to a shop or you have what you
have , a $3,000.00 bill coming up to pay

I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima, and the car won't go out of park unless you activate the Shift lock bypass. When this happens the break inghts don't work. I checked the fuses and have replaced the break

I would check the brake switch & the shift solenoid, if that
applies, that releases the shifter

A wiring diagram is a must, unless your just testing the solenoid

Also there may be some adjustment for the shift linkage

Without the factory manuals & they are on a CD, your at a big
disadvantage, guessing at something you don't know about

Sure need but want to avoid the prices at a dealer

Generally, when a shift lock solenoid/system goes bad you just zip tie the shift lock to unlocked position and that removes the need to depress the brake to shift out of park.

Nissan Maxima 1997- Battery

Sounds as if you need the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The contacts inside are most likely worn out.
