SOURCE: Where is the bank 2 o2 sensor located on a 2004

bank 2 is the cylinder in the front of the engine compartment near the radiator, the O2 is either in the exhaust manifold of the bank or in the exhaust pipe off the manifold, round about the size of a jumbo magic marker, you need a special O2 sensor socket to remove it in some cases, if it is in the open then a 7/8 open end wrench will work.

How many o2 oxygen sensors does a Mazda 2002 MPV LX have

Four. There are two located before the catalytic converters and two after the catalytic converters.

The are referred to as bank 1 and bank 2 and sensor 1 or sensor two. Bank 1 is always the same side of the engine as the number one cylinder. Bank 2 is the other side. Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter. Sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter.

  • Bank 1 sensor 1 - same side of the engine as the number one cylinder and before the cat.
  • Bank 1 sensor 2 - same side of the engine as number 1 cylinder, after the cat.
  • Bank 2 sensor 1 - Opposite side of the engine as the number one cylinder and before the cat.
  • Bank 2 sensor 2 - Opposite side of the engine from number 1 cylinder and after the cat.

I am getting a P0031, P1512, & P0421 code

P0031 - most likely pointing to a failed O2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 1 is located before the catalytic converter)

P0421 - failed catalytic converter or a failed O2 sensor

P1512 - intake manifold shutter valve is stuck - may be caused by the O2 sensor, but may not

I recommend replacing your O2 sensor first and see what happens
