SOURCE: high beam/fog light not working

hi have you had the steering wheel off if you have may well of distrurbed the switch housing and needs readjusting to give you the extra space for the pull switch to lock in to the contacts if not most cars are wired so the the fog lights work with a certain position on the light switching circuit example side lights need to be on main beam needs to be selected so i would fix the problem with your light switch first and see if the fog lights work after it may be seperate problems but might not as i said if you have not had the steering wheel off and you have to hold the switch up to get it to work then the switch is faulty yates210456

What can be the problem with my Kia Sportage 2013 high beam, left one works fine but right one comes on and then switches off. Earth is good so are the globes.

So when the car is off and you have your headlights switched on both the low beam setting and high beam setting work normally. But once you start your car your low beam headlights work but when you switch to your high beams the right headlight shuts off? I don't know how that'd be possible since the controls for your high beam and low beams aren't connected to whether the engine is running I'd suggest changing your headlight bulbs

1996 dodge Ram 1500 4x4 headlights dont work. All other lights work. Headlight lamps are all good. Could it be the switch or the multifunction switch? High beam works when I pull on the directional le

The headlight switch gets power for the headlights from a 50amp fuse.
The fuse powers the headlight switch then the dimmer switch breaks for high and low beams. So if the high beams work, the problem may be with the dimmer switch.
The dimmer switch is made into the turn signal switch on the column. You would need to check the low and high beam circuits at the switch for power.

Headlights will not come on but if I hold the high beam switch the high beams come on. What could be the problem?

the headlight switch sends power to the highbeam switch which controls both low and high beams, if the bulbs are good i would say it is a faulty high beam switch, if it was the headlight switch the highs would not work either.

RX330 high beams do not work

Did the low beams go off?.. If not, it sounds like you have a bad switch.

2005 Dodge Magnum low beams do not work

Obviously you have a connector which has come partially apart somewhere between the Headlights and the Headlight Switch. Most modern vehicles have several connectors between the Headlight Switch and the Headlights, Start at the Firewall Connector and work forward toward the Headlights making sure all connectors are securely mated. Another remote possibility is that you have fractured the "Low Beam Filaments" in BOTH Headlights. You don't mention how hard you hit the Speed Bump but if it caused the car to "Bottom Out" the front suspension it was a hard enough impact to fracture the filaments. You can use a 12 Volt Test Light at the Sockets for the Headlight Bulbs and see if you are getting 12 Volt power there. If you are in Low Beam position you have fractured the filaments. Check with High Beam too.

Headlight high beams do not work. I have even replaced the headlights. Low beam worksbut when switching to the high beams they turn off. Please help.

Hello. Generally when this happens, the high-low beam switch has gone bad and needs to be replaced. If you are handy you can do this your self. Otherwise, any autoelectric repair shop is your best bet. J.

My low beam lights sometimes stop working i still have high beam and daylight runing lights after a while they come on.2009 elantra dealer can't find problem.

when the low beams quit try switching from high to low and back and see if low beams stay on, if they do it may be the dimmer switch, if that doesn't change anything suspect the headlight switch.
