I would like to make a suggestion that the 5pack non-slip suit hangers white/blue-MS13-630-002-09 be made with a wire hanger. It would make it a lot easier to hang in vehicles.

SOURCE: exhaust repair estimate

I don't think you should be charged more than a couple of hundred dollars if just the hangers are being replaced. It ought to be far less, as hangers are not expensive. Maybe its just a bushing & that would be really cheap. Go to a shop that will give you a free estimate, have them put it on a lift and show you exactly what is wrong, get a written estimate - then you can take the car home and call around to other shops to see exactly what they will charge to change that or those parts. This will also help you reduce your costs, especially since you are now informed, and can dicker with the shop. Hope this helps you, Rick

SOURCE: locked out of 96 chevy cavalier

You can use a wire hanger with a hook bent onto the end fairly easily if you slide it down the window and try to feel around to hook onto the lock mechanism. It may take a bit of patience, but I got into my 2000 with not too much trouble. Then do what I did immediately afterwards - get another key cut to keep in your wallet...

SOURCE: Pontiac Sunfire Exhaust pipe hanging low

Put the car up on ramps or jack stands and look for a broken hanger. If the rubber part is broken buy a new one, if the metal rod has rusted away then go to a auto parts store and buy a universal hanger. If the exhaust is broken buy a length of repair pipe. Either ridgid for a straight section or flexible for bends. Use a sawzall or hacksaw to cut off broken ends, fit repair pipe and clamps over the old pipes, then tighten the clamps. The people at the store should be able to answer any questions for you.

Locked keys in escalade

Call a locksmith. Any break-in tricks are dangerous as they could damage your vehicle (that's why it's called a break-in).

If you insist, you could potentially slip a wire coat-hanger under the exterior window molding, between the door and the window to disengage the door lock. But, this might be hard to do if you don't have a clothes hanger with you.

My keys are locked inside how should I open

Instructions

Straighten out the metal coat hanger and bend one end of the hanger into a hook shape. Make the hook about one inch.

Place the end of the metal coat hanger with the hook on it between the window and the frame. Place the hanger 1/2 an inch behind the door handle toward the the edge of the door closest to the rear door.

Push the hanger down about two feet into the door frame. Pull up on the hanger until you feel the hook catch onto the metal arm inside the door frame that controls the lock. You may have to try a few times before the hook catches the metal arm.

Pull up on the hanger once the hook has connected to the metal arm until the door lock unlocks. The lock handle on the inside of the car will move once you have connected the hook to the metal arm that controls the door lock.

I left my keys in the ignition. How can i get my keys out of my locked van?

I would like to say use a rock a hammer, a locksmith, or spare keys but I have done this enough times to know how not funny that can be while you are locked out.

Unfortunately with new vehicles they have various anti theft devices built in. Some are rather subtle like the door lock knobs being smooth so you cannot get a grip on them with a coat hanger wire and so on. Without causing damage your options are really quite limited. If you had a window open a inch or two you can use a coat hanger to get the keys out of the ignition by hooking the keyring and getting it outside. Other than that you will not be able to unlock the doors unless you have electric locks and can hit the unlock with the button. Past this simple thing you would have to make a tool called a jimmy which most locksmiths or towtruck or aa drivers might have. Short of busting a window you only other non damaging options are to call AA or a locksmith or talk to the towtruck companies if they can open it for you. This might cost a bit to get it opened but there won;t be any damage other than a bit of pride. This also can be the fastest way in. Even the coat hanger trick will take a lot of time unless you get lucky right away.

I actually have 4 sets of keys for my Ford. Rumour has it that I may have locked myself out once or twice ;-]

1994 xj6 has a blocked drain in the fuel filler cavity area. I can run a wire coat hanger down the drain - but I feel resistance after about 18" of the coat hanger has been inserted and can't break...

You are using too thick of a wire with a coat hanger. I use machinists wire to unblock the drain hole. The tube emerges under the car by the left rear wheel. This is a common problem and leads to water in the tank if not cleared on a regular basis.

My turn signals don't flash

make sure all the bulbs are working. If not check the fuse but i doubt its a fuse cause none of the lights would be on but check the flasher. Flasher Location

It is located under the dash board on the drivers side. You will need a flash light, zip cord for re-installation, a long non metallic rod 1/4" dia and a wire hanger. Bend hanger straight and make a little hook on end. Remove turn signal fuse located at fuse box under driver side dash. Lay on floor with flashlight on drivers side. Look above fuse box it is located above it about 10" it is round and silver. Use rod to push off clamp. Now use hanger to retrieve flasher unclasp and install new flasher. Reinstall flasher and clip under dash with zip cord for access later. Replace fuse. If you need further assistance please let me know. Thanks, midwest-tek

Locked keys in car.need picture of inside of the door to see how to open it with a coat hanger

BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL!! pull top of door out with your fingers and wedge something in the gap. doesnt have to be a huge gap just enough to get a hanger or whatever you choose to use. if it has lock button you can directly push with hanger or whatever. if no button you can bend a hook on hanger and snag door lock and pull open. good luck!! BE CAREFUL, DO NOT PULL DOOR TO FAR. JUST ENOUGH AS NEEDED. let me know how it goes!!!

Locked the key inside. how can i unlock the door?

You can use a pry bar or a very large screw driver( 14+inches).put a piece of card board on the prying tip to protect the paint.Pry the top right corner tip of the driverside door enough to slip a 2 1/2 foot wire coat hanger through the opening hitting the door unlock switch. You may have to repeat a couple times bending the hangar to suit your aim.The door is flexable so you wont break it.

What type of clamp is required to secure my exhaust system? I have an 02 2.4 stratus and the exhaust system is hanging low. The rear hanger has slipped out of place and the other hanger near the middle...

You can either buy a new hanger or reattach old one. You can always use a coat hanger as well. You can tighten the exhaust up with a 1 7/8 or 2" muffler clamp. Or even better to have it welded
