i guessed drive line... so....

the book hints at....
- Faulty Input Speed Sensor 2 ,.is dead.
- Input Speed Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Input Speed Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

The Input Speed Sensor 2 is one of the two hall effect speed sensors that are used by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to calculate the transmissions turbine speed. Since the turbine speed could not be measured directly, two of the drive elements are measured. Two input speed sensors are required because both elements are not active in all gears.

Where is the speed sensor?

there several speed sensors 1 on every wheel for abs called wheel speed sensor and in transfer case 4wd or awd call output shaft speed sensor or vehicle speed sensor and input shaft speed sensor which can be a computer generated signal from crankshaft sensor and output shaft speed sensor this is to determine torque converter lock up.

Grand CherokeeTransmission needs high engine revs to work

Hi Ghecham,
I have done some research and it sounds more like the torque convertor may be the problem,As the speed sensor would affect the whole speed range and not just the range under 3500rpm's
I will continue to check on other possible causes while you are having the other parts replaced.

Thanks again
