Most likely a problem with the
Shift Interlock System
The shift interlock system prevents the shifting from PARK unless the brake pedal (2455) is depressed. The shift interlock system consists of a shift lock actuator (3Z719) mounted at the base of the steering column tube (3514). If the ignition switch (11572) is in the RUN position, the shift lock actuator is continually on unless the brake pedal is depressed.
Could have a bad brake switch , do the brake lights work ?

SOURCE: stuck in park
the solenoid that releases it is bad or stuck from spilled drinks. try to put it in neutral with the key turned forward one click.
SOURCE: shifter is stuck in park
The shift cable is off the lever on the trans...the dash indicator states drive but the shifter is in park. Look under the drivers side of the trans, next to the catalytic converter(make sure the truck is cooled off) the trans cable will not be attached to the tranny lever-re-attach and you will be able to get it home or to a shop for a repair. This happened to me already, simple fix.

ck and see if brake lights work if they do not then you have a bad brake lamp switch
SOURCE: Cant get my truck out of PARK
Try using your emergency brake as well when you park on a hill...it will ease the stress on your shifter.
SOURCE: Help. My gear shifter is stuck in park. It won't
it maybe whats called torque lock, you put the car in park and didn't apply the brake, and trans. shifter locked maybe try rocking the car and then try to shift, hope this helps.
