The 1st step to resolve a check eng light is to have the computer control system tested for the trouble/malfunction code that is stored when ever the ck eng lt is turned by the computer on, there are over 200 such trouble codes so guessing is not really an option, have the memory read for the code and post the code back here on fixya.

Go get the code pulled, and see what the code is for. If there is no drive ability problems then it may be an EVAP problem.

Hello,

for safety cases let the service center of your Masirate solve the issue.

However, try to find out the automatic relay that let accelerates on its own.

2006 Maserati Quattroporte had a oil change done a week ago oil light came on checked dipstick no oil on dipstick does that mean damage to the engine

The oil light will come on if there is no oil or very little oil in the engine. You say you had the oil changed a week ago. Check the oil plug in the engine pan and see if it is very loose or missing.and leaking oil Also check the oil filter to see if it is loose and leaking oil. If you changed the oil using a company then you could have a complaint with them if something is loose or missing. If you changed it yourself you may have to say its a learning experience. Hope you never drove very far with no oil your engine just might be ok.

Hi. My 2004 Maserati coupe has the check engine light on now. What could make that light come on? Could it be something simple? Or will it cost me an arm and a leg?

The issue can be either simple or complex. The next step is that you need to pull the error code(s) from the computer. REMEMBER the codes are a clue and not necessarily the culprit.A loose vacuum hose can throw a lean cylinder error, as well as others.

Oil pressure

oil pressure at 5 bar all the time is generally a good sign and normal. After some enthusiastic driving on hot day you might see it drop a little when the car is idling. There are unfortunately quite a few things that can go wrong but many cars that run well for a lot of miles so if its running well don't look for trouble!! There is a couple of forums the maserati forum and and sports maserati forum with member who have the manuals on disk and will send them to you if you ask nicely. I bought a printed copy form e-bay, it wasn't cheap but its a proper maserati manual so its quite a thing!!
