Toyota Coaster bus w/ hino no4c, white smoke, no power

you did not specify mileage on this engine.... compression may be an issue, also large amounts of white smoke pulls me over to a lack of fuel, lean condition on diesel creates this fenomena, check delivery lines and pressures,

Have LT 1536 . Smoke started coming out the exhaust but engine sounds healthy

Depends on the colour of the smoke.
Unlikely an engine will sound healthy emitting black smoke - excess fuel.

An engine could sound healthy emitting white smoke (steam from coolant) but not from white smoke (excess unburned diesel).

Most engines emitting blue or blue-grey smoke from burning engine oil can sound very healthy.

2002 VW 1.9tdi engine lacks power and emits black exhaust smoke. What is likely cause?

If it isn't a dirty, blocked air filter, the EGR is always a firm suspect (Exhaust Gas Recycler). The EGR recycles a limited amount of exhaust gases and can become quite gummed up with soot and oil.

The Saab 2.2 tid suffers from this big style. Cleaning - takes about 30-45 minutes - usually solves the problem.

I wouldn't imagine that cleaning your VW EGR will take long or be too difficult. Have a look on the following link:

What is causing engine running too rich when idling

I would check to see if there is a restriction in the fuel return lines. Also the o2 sensor might be lazy.

Why does engine run rich at times under acceleration?

not enough detail
to get an engine to accelerate , the air /fuel mixture is moved to rich in accordance with engine rpms
the more rpms the richer until the peak rpms are reached
( accelerator pump-power valve in carbies and ECM settings according to accelerator position
black exhaust smoke in diesels
so if you press the accelerator slowly then the air/fuel mixture is altered constantly in relation to the pedal setting
If you floor the pedal then it moves to rich and you get black exhaust smoke until the air mixture is again in balance

I have a Hyundai Trajet 2002 Gasoline. I have a problem with keeping the engine alive.

The engine is running very rich that is why the exhaust is emitting black smoke. The engine needs a tune up so the air fuel mixture is correct.

Jag X TYPE Diesel Black smoke coming from exhaust on acceleration

i had this problem and thought the fuel filter oil filter needed replacing so i have just had a service done but problem is still there but not as bad. been told it could be the AGR valve or a split pipe going to it which recuirculates unused fuel back to burn again. therefore unspent fuel is coming out of the exhaust causing the black smoke. i am still looking for the answer aswell, hope this helps.
