SOURCE: 1993 chevy pickup 1500...started getting

as far as the temp gauge goes...i have a 91 1500, i had the same problem. i replaced the temp sensor and it fixed the problem.

as far as the bad gas mileage... if you haven't already done so, perform a tune up; plugs, wires etc.

SOURCE: Chevy cavalier temp guage stopped working on instrument panel

if the wiring is good and there are no blown fuses, likely the gauge itself will have to be replaced

SOURCE: fuel guage stuck at 3/4 tank on my 2004 Chevy

Hi: It Sounds like you Either Have a bad Connection on Your Gauge or the Sending Unit which is in Yout Gas Tank.Your Fuel Pump and Sending Unit Are Located In Gas Tank.Check and Make Sure your Connections are Good and Clean 1st. But it Really Sounds like your Sending unit has Gone Bad.To Replace Sending Unit You'll Have to Drop The Fuel Tank,Empty As Much Fuel as you Can Either Drive till its empty. Holding your Tank Up is 2- Metal Straps with Threaded Bolts and Nuts, Spray with WD-40 And Let It Set awhile Cause Normaly the Are Dirty. Then Take Eiter A Deep Well Socket if it will reach the Nuts,Or Use A Wrench -Remove BOTH NUTS And also at the Filler Tube You'll Probally have a2-3 Screws you'll need to Take Out. Your Tank Should Come on Down.NOTE: Don't PULL the tank out Until you take your Wire Connects Off Remember Which ones Went where. Then Slide Tank out Away From Vehicle, On The Top Of Tank where you remove the wires where thers a Metal Retaining Ring, You'll need to Spray with wd-40 and Remove that Ring,Buy taking a Screw Driver and small Hammer and Tap it out Going Counter Clockwise. After its Off you will be able to Remove the Complete Fuel Pump Assembly. All you'll Need is to Remove Sending Unit.Since Fuel Pump Was Working Right.See if your Auto parts Store has only the Sending unit.if not try Dealership, Hopefully You Won't Have to Replace the Complete Unit. Hopefully this will help you. Please Let Me Know By Voting for me on the Quality of Solutions i've Given you,And Leave a Testamony if You Will. Thanks From The WYOCWBOY

2008 trailblazer temp guage and ac go out at same time. Battery reset works for short period of time. Any advise?

Temp sensor may be failing. On some models, the ac will not work without a good coolant temp signal. First check to make sure the connection is good on the sensor. Then check for issues with the wire--is the insulation cracked or melted on a hot engine? If the wiring is good, replace the sensor.

I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado and today my temp

when a temp gauge drops to cold ,it indicates a problem in the cooling system
temp gauge sender units need water to activate the resistance that makes the gauge read so a falling gauge indicates no water around the sender unit --- air lock in the system--faulty wire connection to the gauge sender unit
the ac unit is not connected to the temp gauge so there may be another separate problem there
the temp sensor is an entirely different unit to the temp gauge sender unit and the short term working would be from an altered coolant level from changing that sensor --air lock in system
the temp sensor connects to the ECM to activate the fans and monitor engine operating temp so as to keep the air/fuel mixture exact for the engine conditions
the temp sender unit just makes the temp gauge read
a faulty thermostat will either be stuck open and the engine temp will take a long time to rise or it will be stuck closed and that will cause an overheat very quickly

I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado and this morning I

check that the wire to the temp sender unit has not fallen off or is not making good contact. If the dash reading is saying that the ac system is off then check that ac system for operation and gas supply. If thermostats are faulty they normally fail in the closed position so there would be an over heat problem with in 10 minutes of stating the engine so at this stage I would leave the thermostat alone

I have a 2008 Chev Colorado theres a message showing alerting there is a door ajar. I opened and closed all the doors and the message still wont go away.

Try disconnecting your battery cable and then reconnecting it.. if that doesn't work then you may have a faulty door sensor switch. this may be under factory warranty through the Chevy dealership
