Does the clutch have the outer clutch slave or is it inside the clutch plate area, to know look on the left or right side for a clutch slave cylinder if it does not have one it's internal and a pain. If it has an out side one fill the master reservoir then go under the truck and crack open the bleed valve on the cylinder have someone pres the clutch pedal all the way down and hold it to the floor, then close bleed valve then allow the clutch back up and have them push it to the floor open bleed valve and close when all air comes out do this till the arm moves it's full travel about 2 inches. And if its one with a master inside the transmission it has to be power bleed and normally you can’t do it without pulling the transmission.

How to check a slave cylinder in a 1995 Ford Bronco

Check fluid first if k try bleeding slave cylinder. When my ranger failed it worked and it didn't. Replace both clutch cylinders, pressure plate, clutch disc, and throw out bearing. I used a small vacuum pump to pull fluid thru the system

No clutch pedal been bleeding it for 3 days. i have replaced the slave cylinder, clutch and clutch master cylinder. its a 1994 ford ranger 2.3L 5speed

On a Ford Ranger you need to have the clutch master cylinder facing up when you are looking at it mounted on the vechile it is pointing down you need to have it facing up and also have a bleeding tool I went out and bought a POhoenix Injector which makes it real easy and you can do it buy your self. Good luck

1983 Ford Ranger Gear grinding

Your clue is probably that when you pump the clutch twice that it works. I don't know about the 83's but the 96 or so on up have automatic clutch adjustment & when the clutch is worn out that part will not adjust anymore and will create the problem, just like th 97 that i have & haven't changed the clutch yet... (too lazy - waiting for it to totally quit before i fix it) So my guess is that if you haven't changed the clutch, pressure plate t/a bearing stuff, you may need to do that. Ford guys should have told you that.... hope this helps, rick

1996 Ford Ranger XLT Clutch Bleeding

The problem is up at the Master Cyl............It comes ou of the firewall and points DOWN at about a 45 deg angle.....The reservoir is remote and the hose is set to the lowest point of the cyl...........The tube TO the slave is 180 deg around facing bottom...........
Take the master cly OFF the firewall.......tilt it so that both inlet and outlet are the HIGHEST point of the cyl........Gravity bleed or vacula the slave.........then reinstall the master
I know it sounds like a lot of work but it's the easiest way to clear the air out of Ranger/Explorer hydraulics

Need step by step on how to bleed hydrolic clutch on a 1996 ford ranger

First remove the clutch reservoir top. Make sure the rubber stopper/bladder is in the cap when removed. Next locate the clutch line that goes into the tranny just aft of the bell housing. There should be a bleed screw, if so open it slightly. If no screw, than loosen the line where it attatches in. Next fill the clutch reservoir and watch till it leaks out on the tranny end. Once thats noticed, close the screw/line and recap reservoir. pump clutch pedal, and repeat bleed steps at least once more to ensure all air is out. remember to fill clutch fluid up to operating levels.
