SOURCE: 1993 Ford Econoline E150, AC and Heat work,

Air diverter doors are vacuum operated. This problem is generally due to broken vacuum line. Start tracing the vacuum line from entry at the firewall back to engine. Likely goes through some type of canister, especially ball shaped and maybe through a vacuum manifold where several lines attach. Check for leak along all attaching lines all the way to vacuum source at engine manifold. If no problem found then check line from firewall to temp/climate control switches under dashboard and from switch to actuators. Can sometimes be difficult to trace but never impossible. Good luck!

Having problems with the vents when the AC is running. Drivers side blows hot air / passenger side is cold.

You have actuators which direct the air in the heater/vent/AC system. My first cars used metal cables, then came along vacuum line control and most now use electric control actuators. They control things such as how much air from outside the car come inside, air flow to windshield/floor or dash, control mix of air for temperature adjustment. Your problem more than likely actuator issue. You can try google vehicle year, make, model temperature different from ac vent, when search you can change wording. If vehicle is older and used vacuum lines could have line leak, my 2000 GM van once had vacuum line laying on engine melted line and leaked. My 13 Chrysler, I have changed 2 actuators they are controlled by electric and started clicking when they went bad.

2003 suburban warm air out front vents and cold air out rear cabin vents (aux system). Passenger side lower actuator is working.

First make sure that the system is full. Possible bad blend door actuator or stuck door. The control panel could be bad. The front orifice tube could be restricted. Check the low pressure ac line that goes into the the cab at the firewall. If it is cold then the heater air in mixing in with the ac air.

2006 Grand Prix Heater blows cold air only

The blend door is probably what is keeping the air from blowing across the heater core and picking up the heat. I hope your manual gives a description and procedure for it.

The blend door actuator and other heater case doors will be either vacuum operated with a few canister diaphragms situated around the heater case, or they may be operated with electric motors. If you pull off the lower sound insulator panels below the dash, you can see the bottom of the heater case, and then find the actuator for the blend door. If vacuum operated, check for vacuum. The vacuum for the heater/AC controls comes from a single line from the engine, through the firewall, and into the back of the control head or to a control module. Then, many vacuum lines branch out from this central point to the canisters- the heater/AC controls will direct vacuum to appropriate actuators, or servos.

It sounds like vacuum is not getting to the vent, heat and A/C controls. Find the vacuum can. It may be under the hood on one of the inner fenders. The "one-way" check valve is usually located in the line and close to the can, make sure it works properly. The valve could be the very thing that's causing the problem. Trace the lines back to the vacuum block at the intake manifold or fire-wall, and also back to where the line goes thru the fire-wall. Check the can for leaks or obvious holes. They used to be just a plain metal can, but it could be a plastic ball. Check the lines as you go, for breaks and rub-thru's. Move the controls thru all settings and listen for vent door movement. Worst case is a bad vacuum motor or air flow position selector switch, and/or a faulty Blend Door Actuator. If you have been driving around with the Temperature knob or control set at the same spot for months, move it from fully cold to fully hot several times and wait for the air temperature to change each time. This will help reset the blend door and vacuum control system. Hope this helps... Let me know what you find.

My ac line gets cold but on the inside of the car hot air blows out. what's wrong with my ac.

It is a actuator motor on the inside of the dash ,mounted on the blower box,the dash will have to be removed to replace it.The actuator motor controls the temp door, and it is not moving the temp door.If this was helpful,at all, please rate, and thank you.
