My 2002 V6 Passat won't shut off. I have to pull the fuel pump fuse to get it to shut down. I disconnected the wiring from the ignition still runs.

SOURCE: starts runs than shuts off after replacing ignition wires and bat

The light with the key through the car is the immobilizer. When you changed the battery it must of screwed it up. You will likely need to tow it to the dealer.

SOURCE: passat 2002 v6 steering fluid deposit

Oops, sorry about that.....

The power steering fluid reservoir is located just behind the drivers (LHD) headlight, just forward of the washer fluid reservoir.

The reservoir has a green cap on it and a plastic trim panel to conceal the sides, it is circled here:

Did you ever get to the bottom of this problem? My car has the same codes- dealer says it might be the fuel pump relay. Wondering what you found out?

Why won't my car start? It was running last night.

Try start the car again when it is completely dry, if it starts the rain may be short circuiting something on the loom in the engine bay.

If it still wont start,

will it turn over? (car tries to start)
- If it wont turn over the battery would be dead

- If it turns over but wont burst into life then we can go from there ^_^

Car won't run

Fuel pump may have failed, or the probelm is ignition related. First- check for blown fuses. If all are fine, check for damaged wiring. If nothing is evidently damaged or disconnected, check for fuel pump pressure, if no pressure- it is the fuel pump. If there is fuel pressure with ignition switch to run position, the problem is likely an ignition module/ignitor. If your ignition system is a more sophisticated one, it is possible a crank position sensor failed or a cam position sensor failed. if the vehicle is so equipped, it should have a fault code stored that is readable with a code scanner.

To be any more specific, the vehicle manufacture, model and model year need to be known.

Engine won't shut down

Look on the back of the injector pump for a wire connection. If there is no wire there find it and reconnect it. If it is there, the ignition switch may not be stopping power to it.

My hhr will not turn off, where is the battery so i can disconnect it

Unplugging the battery won't shut it down I don't think.

Get into your fuse box under the dash or in the engine compartment and pull the fuse for the fuel pump.
