I never heard of a vacuum line going from the throttle body/intake manifold before but I have never worked on a Kia. Disconnect the hose at both ends have some one take you to ace hardware they have automotive vacuum hose by the foot bring your old hose with you so they can cut the proper length and girth of your original hose and pop the new one back on. It might be hard to fit the new hose back onto their fittings i usually lightly oil the surface that the hose goes over with engine oil so it goes on pain free remember lightly oil. good luck.
1- do you have aftermarket audio or alarm installed recently- if yes, that is likely the phantom drain.
2- if this just developed, does the fuel pump remain on? You can hear it running if kneel down by the gas tank. If so- relay may have fused contacts- in which case replace relay. Alternately the oil pressure switch may be stuck closed. in which case- replace the oil pressure switch- it is not the same one that controls the oil pressure gaauge or light- those are in a different location.
Never use a high pressure hose to wash under the hood of a car with electronic/computer controlled engines unless you want a VERY large bill after doing so.Hopefully, if you run it till its hot, it may dry out, this could take a couple of days normal driving, keep your fingers crossed.....get back if no change in a few days.
if its a automatic and the engine is cold it wont shift into the last gear. the tranny and engine have to be at close to normal running temp to shift. its normal and nothing to freak over. if this isn't the case go to kia-forums.com/1g-1994-2002-sportage/ and post a thread there or look for one. great site
well what i would do first is smell the transmission fluid if it smell burnt the transmission must come out,if not drop the valve body and check for a stuck valve or a check ball stuck in the separator plate try that over and out joe cool
Depending on how much brake work was done, either the wheel sensors have been damaged or were not properly reconnected.
The regular brake warning light may be on because the ABS is disabled at the moment.
Fixing the ABS problem may extinguish the standard warning light too.
I suspect the brakes are working but not as an ABS-equipped system.
If you have one of the auto parts chain stores near you, take it to them for a free scan of yoru computer; the error code it finds may be more specific that the ABS warning light.
It sounds like the hydraulic tappets have bled down due to lack of oil. This causes no or low compression resulting in a non start.
Best cure I tried was too remove all spark plugs and With a fresh battery crank the engine for a few minutes ( it will crank over quicker without the plugs and allow the tappets to pressurize with oil.
Re fit the spark plugs and then try to start it again.
