5.7L Engines
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Drain the cooling system.
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove the upper radiator hose.
- Disconnect cooling fan electrical connector.
- Remove cooling fan mounting bolts.
- Remove the radiator cooling fan assembly from vehicle.
- Remove the radiator fan assembly.
- Remove accessory drive belt.
- Remove thermostat.
NOTE
The water pump mounting bolts are different lengths. Note the location of the water pump mounting bolts.
To install:
- Install water pump and mounting bolts. Tighten mounting bolts to 20 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
- Make sure double ended bolt is in the proper location. Tighten double ended bolt to 20 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
- Position the radiator cooling fan assembly in vehicle.
- Install cooling fan mounting bolts. Tighten to 50 inch lbs. (6 Nm)
- Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Install the upper radiator hose.
- Install thermostat.
- Install the accessory drive belt.
- Install the radiator fan assembly.
- Connect negative battery cable.
- Fill the cooling system.
- Pressure test cooling system.
