Fuse 56 and 57 control central locking,the issue is caused by surges typically in the front door lock actuators, normally at a dealer they would replace fuse 56 and 57 with a 20a mini fuse and if still occuring repl the door lock(s) that dont work or typically both front, first replace fuse 56 and 57 with 20a fuses as were too small from factory and than operate ten to 15 times, if it doesnt work at first dont panic,let the car go to sleep which takes about 16 min and than try again this problem has nothing to do with the key fob or the lock unlock button inside,also the fuses are located behind the glove box just rere the access panel and they are found at lower left section
Replace fuse 57 (15 amp) then disconnect battery and wait 30 to 45 minutes before reconnecting the battery.
My 2006 BMW 325I had the same problem with the door locks not responding. I checked all related fuses and found #57 (15 amp) was the only related fuse blown. I put in a new fuse and it still would not work. I then disconnected the battery for a while then once I reconnected the battery everything worked fine.
I believe I blew the fuse while repeatedly pushing the unlock button rapidly while walking across the parking lock to the car. I suggest only pushing the unlock button only once or twice.
Same problem here. Key fob only locked drivers side door but would not unlock. Had to unlock with the key. Central lock button did not responds. Checked #57 fuse and it was blown. Replaced and would still not work. Started the vehicle, then it worked. Problem solved. I remember when I unlocked it the first time it failed. I remember pressing key fog awkwardly. Must have jolted the wiring somehow. Thanks you findinghomes! Nice to save a trip to the dealer. Probably would have said it was something major.

Change the fuse 46 or 47 and that should fix your problem!
This is a fuse problem. 2006 325i has 4 or 5 fuses that control door locks. There is a fuse diagram card on the back of the fuse box access panel. Check the fuses that are for door locks and replace the bad fuses.
It's a BMW everything has to work right for it to work right,fix the central lock button first,then see what happens.
After replacing the fuse # 57 , you should start the car for resetting an then power door lock will work.

insert the key into the drivers side or passender side front door, twist the key and pull open on the handle at the same time and the door will open. It might take a few times to get it, but this does work, source BMW AG Munich.
