SOURCE: limp in mode

Your shift control computer is getting a bad sensor value. So either a shift control sensor has gone bad, or there is a problem with your transmission. Either take it to a mechanic or buy a scan tool so you can find out the exact nature of the problem if you're going to attempt to fix this yourself.

SOURCE: 1996 dodge avenger when cold, the transmission go in limp mode

Is the vehicle's Check Engine Light on? It should briefly light up when you turn the key on (before you start the engine) to show that the light is working correctly. Based on what I've read I believe you should have one or more trouble codes. A place like AutoZone will read the trouble codes for you for free, and you can look them up here - http://www.engine-light-help.com/generic-check-engine-light-codes.html

SOURCE: Cant find transmission filter on 2003 Dodge stratus Coupe.

The filter is inside the transmission. You need to take the pan off the bottom then you can replace the filter and the pan gasket.

SOURCE: my 91 dodge stealth is in limp mode how do i fix

Your car is in "limp"mode because the computer doesn't know what speed your doing,So it doesn't shift,
There are three possible reasons for this,
#1= input sensor faulty on transmission,
#2=output sensor faulty on transmission,
#3=speed sensor faulty on transmission,
you need to have the transmission codes read to know which one,Autozone checks codes for free.

SOURCE: My 2000 dodge caravan just went into its limp mode

The transmissions available in your caravan are problematic for having a bad solenoid pack. Once the transmission is set in the LIMP IN mode, then you need to take it to a dealer to get the code reset from the transmission and to get it diagnosed properly. I'm sure there will be a code such as, "trans solenoid stuck in LR" which means " low range" if the transmission went into limp in mode, then that simply means it defaulted to second gear only. Which is telling you to have it looked at asap. I'm sure if you repalce the transmission solenoid pack and gasket and perform the re-learn procedure, then your problem will go away. good luck!

4 cyl. Auto trans. in limp mode. takin the shift solenoid out to re build it i fnd ripped wires. My question may seem should i re connect the first or cont with the shift solenoi

Unfortunately, you should have gotten the diagnostic codes for the transmission before messing with the shift solenoid. Most of those dodge shift issues are caused by input and output speed sensors.

My 2001 dodge startus transmission wont shift, speedometer works, engine light is on. Need help?

Transmission is in limp mode. This enables you to drive the car to service. Anytime there is a transmission code in the computer even if nothing is wrong it will stay in limp mode until the code is erased. Most retail auto parts stores will run an obd2 diagnostic scan to determine the problem and erase existing codes, no charge (Auto Zone, Advance and others)

My 1997 Dodge Stratus is stuck in limp mode, second gear forward or reverse. It doesn't have a speedometer display or the tachometer most of the time. I replaced the output speed sensor and the Tr

Its not likely the transmission is causing the problem if both the speedo and tach are out. The tach does not involve the transmission.
Sounds more like a problem with the instrument cluster or the body computer.
You may have to get a used shop manual to get the wiring diagrams and testing procedures.

My transmission will not shift outta third gear..it will go in reverse but will nt go into normal shifting

This is Dodge's limp mode. It means there is a problem with the transmission. Take it to a shop with a scan tool. They can plug in and clear the codes and find the problem.
